Getting the God Eater 3 Platinum; A Monster Hunters' perspective

God Eater is a series I've always known of, quietly existing whilst I play Monster Hunter for 1000's of hours. I've enjoyed other games like it; Freedom Wars & Soul sacrifice being the most noteworthy. So I decided to give God Eater 3 a shot, without playing the previous entries. This one seemed the most accessable, and is also the shortest platinum out of the 3. I looked forward to the different combat, weapons, the story and finally, the new roster of monsters I was aboout to face

Ooh anime monster hunter wasn't something I thought I needed in my life but this looks really fun! Sounds like the plat journey was enjoyable, glad it didn't take as long as your monster hunter ones did!

It's super fun! 50 hours is probably the time I've spent hunting Jyura in monster hunter alone TBH lol

It is always interesting to get introduced to games, I wouldn’t be looking at on my own. It looks cool, but I am not made for games with a lot of stats and grinds. Congratulations on the new found enjoyment. Games that surprise the player are the best.

I getcha score, it's a pretty grindy game, but no where near the worst offender for this genre! I'll want to make a video about Monster hunter soon, but I have spent 1200 hours on that game lol (the plat journey is like around 300)

Enjoy the journey. 1200h is a lot. I used to enjoy grind, but recently all of it leaked somehow. I only can hold small amounts of it at a time. It is sad and frustrating, because endless grind used to be my super power. At the moment I struggle with RE4R on standard difficulty. The goal is under 5 hours, but I am not seeing the end of it. The game with weapons, that are not upgraded, is pure terror to me. Such a classic, but I am 50:50 on it. But I want a video out of my time with the game. I’m curious about how long the clean up (4 trophies) will take me.@@Mode47yt

I love a good anime opening. This game does look fun. Some of the monster designs look sick. Would you say this is a more fun platinum journey than Monster Hunter World? Does this have actual coop or is it just AI allies?

I felt less attached to the world and the monsters than monster hunter.. so even though MHW plat was a pain, I enjoyed it more because it was MH. Does that make sense? This is like a good alternative to a MH platinum. It does have coop but no online trophies, and they are their own missions- seperate from the 7 ranks you can do in SP. Very fun though, you would enjoy!

Really now, "God Eater 3"? That's a game, and series, that you don't really see ever brought up. I've been a fan of the series way back with the first game on the PSP. Well, the original version of the first game was JP only but we did get the updated version, "God Eater: Burst". Though it was renamed "Gods Eater Burst" to try to avoid outrage from religious groups. But yeah, I've played and platinumed basically every entry, or at least their latest versions that had trophy support: "God Eater Resurrection", "God Eater 2: Rage Burst", and of course, "God Eater 3". "God Eater 3" is probably the easiest of the three games to finish but it's also a good entry point since, outside of one returning character having a minor role in the post-game, it's largely disconnected from the rest of the series. As a bonus fun fact, the same developers behind the "God Eater" series also went on to make "Code Vein" and it actually takes place in the same world believe it or not, making it a spin-off of sorts. Though the future of the franchise at this point is uncertain. There's been no news whatsoever for a couple years now.

Probably the most informative comment I've ever had - thanks for that! This being my first entry, apologies if any information was incorrect. I really did enjoy it though, currently on Mission level 7 in ressurection. Not too far in, but will go onto God Eater 2: Burst after. Like Monster hunter, I'm enjoying seeing the monsters and recognsing the weapon animations I'll have to try code vein out then, I think it was on plus sometime this year or maybe last! Thanks for the heads up
