Glad to see you running your sluice with no classifying. That is the same way I do it. Just toss out the big stuff after it washes off and let the sluice do it’s job while you fetch the next bucket. I learned how to do it watching a video made by Gary Honan a few years ago. 😂

WOOO HOOO Gary sluicing what a treat and you moved a heck of a lot of dirt as well bummer on the metal detector but that is a great spot for sure if you did a full day you would definitely break the 2 gram rut. I wish I was in a 2 gram rut but sadly it’s more like a quarter gram or less. I know that’s sluice is older technology mat wise Alan Robertson (RU-vid) has invented a silicone mat that you don’t need to classify with and it still catches even the fine gold they can be made to fit any sluice size and it saves a ton of time just shovel or bucket material in and watch the gold pile up a lot of prospectors use this new technology matting because the silicone really holds onto the gold check into it if you like you won’t be disappointed. Here’s hoping you find your bigger sluice would love to see another sluicing video from you. Thanks for sharing see you on the next one👍🏻👊🏻

Good video. Lots of time if you ad some water and while holding the bucket by the handle twist it back and forth help settle the gold and washes the rock before you start running your paydirt.

I find it's good to just stick a big rock upstream the overpowered side of the V to balance it out. The flow can be obstructed into uniformity as well as channeled with a wing dam. Anywho, Gary is the man.

Say Gary, you did pretty good with that mini sluice in that spot. Have you thought about taking Jeff and your mini highbanker to that spot. Looks like there is a few bolders there, and you know how much Jeff loves tossing bolders while you find gold... Heavy pans my friend, heavy pans.

Wow that’s really good gold for such a small sluice. I wish I could show you my sluice and method that I use when I am out sluicing. Three years ago I was up on the n. American river and managed 1/2 oz in three days digging in a gravel bar. With the kind of gold you are finding there, with my sluicing method, who knows what you may end up with at the end of the day. Hoping to get over your way again next summer. Would love to meet up for a day of sluicing. Doesn’t even need to be in any of your hot spots. Just to show how I do it. Great videos

That spot has become your home away from home. It keeps giving up the goods. You were probably thinking about the brutality of the hike in and out when you left the detector at home. Nice cleanout and you're definitely on the right track with your dig, dump and don't sweat the small stuff strategy. Now it's time to get serious, jettison the little sluice and carve through the rest of that gravel deposit with a detector and an Angus.

Yah, Ive just never been much of a classifying kind of guy. I'll even top my pan off with a mini boulder if i feel it needs to be brought down to the creek and washed. I think you had a great day for a quick run to the creek. We are having a warm up here in PA tomorrow and i'm also going out for a end of the year rally. but i already know i will fall far short of 2 grams for the day. ...and also the year! hahaha

Looks like about $84 worth of gold at todays prices. 1oz gold = 31 grams. $1800 per oz .9999% gold 1800 / 31 = $58.065 per gram But it is not pure. (Guessing here) about $1400oz = value of gold, pre smelting. So it is, IMHO, $1400 / 31 = $45.16 per gram 1.86g x $45.16 = $83.9976 or $84 worth Not a bad day!
