I’m planning on purchasing SkyMaxx pro v4 but I believe it has been around for quite some time and has been developed constantly, which is good. But if the major upgrade v5 is around the corner then I ll hold my purchase and buy v5 when it comes out. So will version 5 be released soon.
Sundog Education ok thanks I will purchase the software anyway I already have v2 but it seems old now. I like what you have done in v4 at least visually. Hope to see improvement in the cloud draw distance in those minor fixes you mentioned since I do a lot of ifr. 😜 thanks for your reply.
Good idea... I'll add that to my list. The main things I would add for v5 are: make sure you aren't trying to use SSAA (super-sampled anti aliasing) with volumetric clouds for best performance, and with version 5.1.0 you should find the non-volumetric clouds are a lot faster than they used to be.
You should. I'm launching/testing/setting up/quitting/relauching/testing... This can be a good reference for your paid customers. Restarting for each color change is a major problem and I hope XP will fix that soon. I understand it's not Silverlining's fault, right?
Can't say I've tried it, but I believe SkyMaxx Pro should represent the correct weather in your replay as long as you are not also using Real Weather Connector with it, set to "always" mode.
Last question before to decide to buy it: if I play a replay, is it easy to disable the plugin with a switch or with another method so it does not influence the weather of the replay?
Keep in mind SMP is a replacement cloud rendering engine. It never does anything to replace the weather conditions themselves. But yes, you can always disable it via X-Plane's plugin administration menu whenever you want to.
Nope. Even if I disable the plugin, the colour of the sky and the sun's appearance are still those of SMP even if SMP clouds are gone and now I see the XP clouds. Only by removing SMP from the plugin folder I recover the exact weather as it was recorded in the Replay.
