On 14 November 2023, the Academy of Social Sciences, in partnership with the University of Glasgow, co-hosted an event exploring the challenges ahead to reach the UK’s net zero commitments, featuring a keynote address by Chris Stark, Chief Executive of the UK Climate Change Committee.
In this video, Chris discusses how the UK can reach net zero through policy decisions, the challenges faced, and the opportunities provided by investing in decarbonising the economy.
The views and opinions expressed in this event are those of the speakers and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Academy of Social Sciences.
This event was part of Election 24: Ideas for change based on social science evidence, a Campaign for Social Science project which drew on a range of social science research to suggest evidence-based social policy directions in the run up to a UK general election in 2024.
