For first time travelers to ATL airport, or someone who just hasn’t flown into ATL in a while, this video shows the process of getting off the plane and walking to Domestic Baggage Claim and then to the off-site parking shuttle pickup area.

First time flyer here. Going to be using ATL soon. Thank you so much for your informative vids. Do you have anything for LAX? I'm more nervous about navigating the airports than flying.

Unfortunately I haven’t had the opportunity to go to LAX yet. I hope you have a great trip.

Just hurry and get there before someone steals your bags. Had mine stolen years ago from ATL baggage claim.

I did see on the Atlanta news recently where they caught and arrest a serial luggage thief who was stealing people’s luggage from baggage claim (maybe a month or two ago). I generally don’t dilly-dally around and try to get to baggage claim as soon as I can so I can watch it emerge onto the carousel and grab it quickly. Usually I’m fast enough but sometimes it beats me there.

We will be going to Atlanta this Friday. We have been there once before and it was so confusing to try to find where baggage clain was and how to exit to get picked up so I appreciate this video. My question is when you were on the train how did you know when to get off for baggage? I'm assuming they announce it?
@bozy106
@bozy106 2 года назад
Yes, they announce it. If you want to hear the announcement check out my other video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Eug9H1EKZrs.html beginning at around the 8 min 25 sec mark. As the train pulls into Concourse T it tells you to remain onboard for domestic baggage claim and ground transportation at the next stop. (I muted the music in that video so viewers could hear the announcement.)

Does all the plane train go to different luggage claims area, I mean ,how do I know which plane to get on aboard?
@bozy106
@bozy106 Месяц назад
There is only one large domestic baggage claim stop that serves all of the concourses and domestic flights. There are multiple bag claim carousels in this area with screens above them telling which flights the particular flight is serving. If you are arriving from an international flight you will take a short walk from your plane to the international baggage claim (which is at the opposite end of the airport).
@goodluckdaa9190
@goodluckdaa9190 2 года назад
Also, how did you locate the exact carousel which your bag was on, is it on your boarding pass?
@bozy106
@bozy106 2 года назад
No, there are screens over the baggage carousels that show which flight’s bags are on what carousel. Depending on the airline you fly with they may also have a smartphone app that can notify you which one they will be on once you land.

@@bozy106 lets say you turned right at 1:29 would you still make it to the domestic baggage claim?
@bozy106
@bozy106 2 года назад
@@goodluckdaa9190 no, if you turned right when you come out of gate B-25 there are only 9 more gates and a set of bathrooms. To get an idea of the layout of this concourse check out ATL’s official map of the concourse at www.atl.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Concourse-B-Oct-2020.png .

@@bozy106 the map was cool, please can you give me international arrivals map to international baggage claim.
@bozy106
@bozy106 2 года назад
@@goodluckdaa9190 unfortunately it is not as detailed but here it is www.atl.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Concourse-F-2020.png . When you exit you plane from your international flight you will be on the lower level of the terminal and you will be funneled to customs/immigration (your are not physically able to go anywhere but customs/immigration upon deplaning due to how they have it set up.). After customs/immigration you will be funneled into international baggage claim. Your entry point is at the very bottom of the diagram on the lower part of the link I just gave you. You will then exit baggage claim (again, it’s the only thing you are physically able to do). Upon exiting you will turn right into the arrivals hall where ground transportation is (if your final destination is Atlanta) or you will turn left with your bags and recheck them if you have a connecting domestic flight.

whe headed right this takes you to the LN 1 for pickup? Sorry for a million questions lol
@bozy106
@bozy106 2 года назад
No problem. In my video at the top of the escalator I had to head to the left to Delta's baggage claim (located in the south terminal) and pick up my checked bag before turning around and walking back towards the north terminal where LN1 is located. If you don't have to pick up any checked luggage you can just head to the right at the top of the escalator and go directly to the north terminal where LN1 is located. (BTW the designation "LN1" stands for "Lower North 1" since you have to go down an escalator to a lower level in the north terminal to get to the door).

Did you go to the north or south baggage claim?
@bozy106
@bozy106 2 года назад
I first went to the south baggage claim to pick up my bags since I had been on a Delta flight. That was at around 7:55 in the video. I then had to walk through the north baggage claim (at around the 10:10 mark) to get to the off-site parking shuttles.

@@bozy106 where is the international departure flights terminal located? First time ever flying
@bozy106
@bozy106 2 года назад
@@goodluckdaa9190 most international flights (except for some short ones like Southwest international flights to Mexico) leave from concourses E or F. I have several international check-in videos if you are checking in at ATL. (International flights check in at the opposite side of the airport in the international terminal.). If you are just connecting at Atlanta you would just change concourses upon landing (see my videos ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xl0zIgF93UM.html )

The International baggage claim is separate from the Domestic Baggage Claim. It is contained in the international terminal. Here are some videos showing the international baggage claim... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-21CMcw4GZWQ.html and ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CKYhbDjXTZA.html
