SHINee is SM's experimental group. They're constantly changing with every comeback. I'd say start at debut and go from there. They more popularized dance practice videos because people wanted to see the full Lucifer choreography. They have a sister group called f(x). I don't know if you've listened to them. Their music in a way mirrors each other. Amazing music all around.

Jonghyun was... is one of IU's best friends. you should react to SHINee on IU's Palette. They sang IU's "Dear Name" which was most probably dedicated to their brother and IU's bff. SHINee knows it, IU knows it, and Jonghyun is probably playing it on repeat.

The next is: *Jonghyun* he was the main vocalist of SHINee, his nickname was "Bling Bling" , basically he shined. He was not only a signer, but song writer, producer, author, radio host. He was a Women rights and LGTBIQ supporter, and did not cared about the hate he recived for it (Korea a very conservative society). He wrote like 40% of SHINee song, several song for other artist like Taemin, EXO, LEE HI, and IU. He had a strong character, very savage, he most of the time was a mood maker and talked the most on interviews and most of the time was confused as leader, that basically make him became Onew right hand when it comes to lead. Onew always said he could not do it with out jonghyun, but Jjong always said Onew could do anything with out him just fine! He was very sensitive as well, and cried a a lot in concerts. He had a radio show called "BLUE NIGHT", he talked alot about several things, including his depression (I will just talk about what he said), He said he had seasonal depression , and winter was difficult for him. He also talked that he had a difficult childhood and intentionally tried to get rid of all the photos and memories of it, have economic problems, his father did not supported his dream of becoming a singer, and he was ambidexter (he could use both left and right hand very well) cuz the moment his father notice he was left handed basically forced him to use the right hand. In the end he was just not close to his father, to the point that his members (Onew, key, minho and Taemin) became head mourners of his funeral as males( head of the family) representatives of the family, and they took care of everyting related to the funeral rituals. But loved his mom and sister very much. He was #1 Taemin supporter, and called himseft "Taemint fan club president", he helpped Taemin with his vocals and gave him some of his songs (well Taemin nagged him for it ), he once postponed his own concert in korea to attend Taemin first solo concert in japan. He was scared of Key birthday because Ke always make him buy expensive presents and even created a song about it ,Lol. Minho and him had a "Tom and jerry" relationship they were always funny together, but Minho was always there for him,...even when he did not expected it. He loved his members as well and have said that the only way he EVER be seprated from them is being physically apart forever. Shinee are like the Pilar of Kpop. They're the one who have bring the first hard dance move, Key have design some of their clothes for concert or new song. They were the one who have bring the original hair style. They're one of the only groupe who've touch so much different style of music, they're really respect in the industry, most of the groupe after their generation are fan of them or have cover their songs and still do it today. (even if new fan of kpop don't like Shinee style of music they need to know them bcs the kpop is what it is today most bcs of them). Their fav have all of this today because Shinee and some of the 2gen have build everything first to make Kpop good and creative. Anyway everyone in the industry respect them.

Onew is pronounced Oh-New in English or On-New with a Korean accent. The reason why the audience screams so loud and Onew cries during this performance of "Rainy Blue" is because this was Onew's first solo performance since having vocal surgery. It was a really scary surgery because there was no guarantee that he would ever be able to sing again, let along at the same quality as he did before the surgery. Onew spent about 3 months after his surgery not being able to speak at all in order to give his vocal cords time to heal and then he had to learn to sing all over again. This performance was proof to himself and the fans that he could still do it and that nothing had changed. ("Rainy Blue" is a cover of a Japanese song, which Onew has kind of made famous internationally. Onew is singing in Japanese. It was wrote by a Japanese singer/songwriter who also had the same surgery as Onew, but unfortunately, the songwriter's surgery didn't go as well as Onew's and the songwriter was never able to sing again. ) And, yes, Taemin plays the piano, and it's performances like this where he gets the nickname as our eternal maknae vampire. :D Some of the time. In certain performances and MVs the way Taemin is dressed and the whole aesthetic of the video or stage, such as in this "Rain Blue" performance, really does give off vampire vibes. One of the reasons why Key chose to come up with funny answers for that questionnaire is the fact that this Weekly Idol episode was part of their 10th anniversary promotions and so they have been on the show many times and had to fill out that same questionnaire almost every time, and they have answered those same questions dozens of more times for other variety shows. So, after that many years, it has become boring just to give a straight answer. They often try to come up with clever and funny answers to give them things to talk about and to create comedic moments in the show. What's particularity notable about the fact that Key said he is from New York, is the fact that he is fluent in English -- almost to the point you would think he is a native speaker. So, if you didn't know him, you might think he really was from New York. The amazing thing about Key's high note in "Like a Fire" is that if you listen to the original version on their album, he doesn't have a high note in that song. But during that performance, which is from their SHINee World Concert III (SWC3) in Seoul, he, out of nowhere, decided he wanted to add a high note. It's almost as if he decided he wanted to try and outdo Jonghyun who is the group's high note master and the one who has the high note right before Key in the song. :D That's Key's classic diva attitude. One slight error in this guide: Minho is actually the MAIN rapper of the group and Key is a sub-rapper. (To say Minho is the second rapper makes it sound like he isn't the one that raps the majority of the time in SHINee's songs.) Minho is credited with writing almost all of his rap sections in SHINee songs, which is proof that he is the main rapper. Minho will have songwriting credits on almost every one of SHINee's songs because he wrote the rap section. Also, Minho more than sings SOMEtimes, he sings just about as much as he raps in SHINee songs. He has the deepest voice out of all the members -- which is why he was made the main rapper -- so SHINee's songs don't often highlight his singing in the same way as the other members, but he is part of all of SHINee's harmonies. Also, by virtue of the fact that he is part of SM, means he also has an amazing voice. When you really get to know SHINee, you will see Minho has just as much vocal range as the rest of the members, and that is why SHINee's five-part harmonies are so outstanding. That is also Minho's classic iconic laugh. He laughs with his whole being and he lights up the room while doing it. In that same clip, Jonghyun fell down because, if you see that full clip, you will see that Minho was spraying water with a spray bottle and the floor was all wet. Before Jonghyun walked in the room the other members were playing around sort of making fun of a commercial they did for a Japanese ramen noodle company where they were each given a different dance move that they used to crush the noodles. However, Taemin and Onew are the ones that have most often been tapped to fill Jonghyun's parts in most of their old songs, and even the parts that I think would have been his parts in their new songs. Taemin learned how to be a singer from Jonghyun, so his voice and vocal range is most like Jonghyun's, that is why he is the one to fill in for him most often. SHINee's cover of Lady Gaga's "Just dance" was a special stage at a KBS award show in 2010. As you can see, SHINee are all fluent in Japanese. They are just as popular as Japanese artists as they are Kpop artists. Most Japanese people don't even consider them foreign artists. SHINee debuted as Japanese artists in 2011 and they spend about 50% of their career in Japan doing events and concerts, etc. For every Korean album SHINee also has a Japanese album, but their songs aren't just remakes of their Korean songs, the majority of their Japanese songs are exclusively in Japanese. And that also includes Taemin's solo career -- for every Korean solo album, he usually follows it up with a Japanese album, as well. And yes, Obama actually talked about following SHINee at a press conference while he was president of the United States. That clip is 100% real. This Guide video was made in 2018, so to update the information, yes the other members of SHINee -- Onew, Key and Minho -- now also have solo careers. Onew and Key had their solo debut right before they went off to the military in 2018 and they both have solo albums. As you discovered, SHINee are known for their live vocals and amazing dancing. They are known as CD-quality singers because they sound just as good live, if not better, than they do recorded. SHINee always sings live. The ONLY thing they are not good at is lip syncing so they avoid it at all costs, so when you hear SHINee singing 95% of the time it will be live. It's a running joke between the fans and the members that when SHINee lip syncs you can tell because it's very obvious. Yes, over the years they have become better at lip syncing then they used to be, but now they have gained the reputation as the group that always sings live, so unless they are required to lip sync for a specific reason, SHINee will always sing live. They have trained their entire career to be able to sing live and always sound flawless while performing extremely complex choreography. SHINee set the standard. That is why they are so highly respected among their peers. It is literally referred to as the SHINee standard. It's the standard all other groups strive to reach. You really should check out some of their live concert performances because their stages are like none other. Their concerts last 3 to 4 hours straight and they perform nonstop and never sound out of tune or out of breath. They are also one of the best dancers in Kpop and they have some of the best harmonies you will ever hear. You know EXO, so you know how good of vocalists they are, well, the members of SHINee actually were mentors to a lot of the EXO members and they helped coach them in their singing. The members of EXO and the members of SHINee are all around the same age and they were all part of the same trainee classes together and they even lived together as trainees, and, yet, SHINee debuted 4 years before EXO, so that just goes to show you a little bit of what makes SHINee so amazing and why they are considered legends. Suho. EXO's leader, was originally training to be a member of SHINee, so both groups are extremely close -- especially Minho and Suho.

The next is: *KEY* , His name suposed to mean that he can open any door (in the industry), he is called "Almighty" as well since he basically can do anything, they call him triple treats for it (can sing, dance, rap... and let add that he can act as well). He is a vocalist, lead rapper and lead dancer. He is the one that speak the best english, as well as japanese. He is a fashionista, fashion designer(designed/styled most of the concert outfits), content producer, song writer , actor and editor. He was raised by his grandmother , and he loved her soo much! , it was really heartbreaking when she passed away. He also knowns how to cook well, he even had a cooking show. He have a very particular personality. He and the members admitted that he used to be more selfish when he was younger, but he had became more considerate with time. He is very sassy, savage, straight foward, he will say exactly what he thinks, he does not like to sugar coat anything. And does not like other tell him what to do but some how he does as Onew said, he like to act cute with Onew, that usually buy him what he wants. Some times fans call him "Onew princess" LOLLL. He is also sensitive and can cry easily. When they were aprendiz he had a big fight with Minho since he told him to wash the dishes, but Key refused to. The fight got bigger since Minho could not understad Key since he speaked satori (korean dialect) they did not fix things till they debuted. They are basically the definition of "Oposite atrack each other".He have said that Minho is his best friend and when he have something that really bothers him he just wait till he see Minho and talk about it with him, he said that Minho dont give advice but simple listen to his worries and always said he will support whatever he decide. Also once they had a party in Key house, he just fall a sleep and Minho cleaned his house and left a note on his table saying "Kibum(his real name) I love you" , and he keep saying how sweet Minho is. They also always join force to tease and/or scold Taemin , lol. He also said in his last show (cooking show) that Minho was so important in his life that he dont think they can ever be apart. He took care of Taemin with the basics, when they just debuted, and Taemin had learnt alot of things from him (good and bad), so part of Taemin savage personality, and no filter comments comes from him, he have said he regret part of the things he teached Taemin, Lol since now he is using it against him. For him Jonghyun was his soulmate ( they understood each other very well and were great friend since day1). My 13th year anniversary as a SHAWOL is this coming may and I can't believe how time has passed so fast. I became a fan after watching their debut stage (replay) and I never looked back since then . They are LEGENDS, trend setters, genre inventors and KINGS!!!! This comeback means a lot to me especially after Jonghyuns passing. Thank you for reacting to SHINee and getting to know them. They deserve all the attention and love rightfully so and I hope more people can know and appreciate them even more.

The members really do have different personalities, and they together are a MESS but they cant help but love each other so much. Let me talk about each member a little (in separated comments so it does not look saturated): - *Onew* is the leader, his name means "Soft" "Gently", and was given because of his personlaity. His nickname is "dubu leader" , dubu is Tofu, and is soft, so is like saying "Our soft leader", other nickname given by his members is "Old man", cuz he really act like one. He is also very clumsy, and people used to call it "Onew condition (sagtae)" He is a great vocalist, he was SHINee lead vocalist for 10 years, and now is the Main vocalist, because of what happened. He have a very gently personality, that people always believed that he was the younguest and Jonghyun was the leader but that was not the case. According to his member he have a very strong but gently leadership and adjust himselft to each member personality , they love him and respect him very much. Jonghyun one said in a show that if you want to bully some one bully him instead, and not Onew, because Onew have a very fragil heart. Also Key have said he did not expected to debut with Onew in the same group, because Onew never danced before, was most of the time silent, and the industry is to rought for nice people like him (he was right... the industry have being...just bad to him). Minho have said that he is not the type of leader that put himself above others but he put himself in the middle, and make them stronger. Onew was Taemin first vocal coach, and ALWAYS defend Taemin no matter what, even against the other members, he is just his baby. And ususally get what he wants from Onew. There some info that he suffers from depression as well, and what happened to jonghyun really hit him so hard. He really needed help. In their 10 anniversary promotions Key mentioned that he need to eat and gain weight again, as well as sleep more and stop worrying so much. So is clear from Key comments thay Onew was still suffering really bad during their promotions. It always remind me on a live they did reponding to fans questions there was a fan that said "Onew till when you will keep being this pretty", and the member just stsrted going all loud "ohhhhhhh" , they keep trying to make him happy. He did said he had troubles crying for jonghyun before reciving psycological help, cuz he felt guilty. ONEW is very intelligent, he was one top student, and his joke and comments are some times difficult to understand, jonghyun was usually the one that understood him the most and knew exactly what he was refering to most of the time. Now he have said that he started to reading more again, and he is searching for the meaning of life. He also became a Christian acouple of years ago,(he was not before) and said that he had find strength from it. He have gone through a lot... he nearly lost his voice and had to recieve surgery in his vocal cords, he was very scared and after it he could not speak for like a month...and was not sure if he would be abbly to sing againg, thank God the surgery went well and he can sing even better than before. He have won a prize (voted by all the idols) as the best leader. Wonderful Shinee

Next is: *Minho*, his nickname is "flaming charisma" or "Frog prince" , because of his look and his cheesy lines (he some times really speak like a movie hero). He is the rapper, dancer and vocalist in the group. He had also participated in song writting and usual write his own raps. He is an actor as well and had participated in a lot of dramas and also in movies. He is extreamly competitive and always want to win. His father is a famous soccer (football) manager in korea, so Minho is very in to sports like soccer ,basketball , swimming and he is good at all of them. He really like any physical activities, and work out in the gym mostly everyday (according to the members). When they debuted to was mostly silent cuz he was shy, however with time he showed his real personality and he is very LOUD. He is a stweet heart, be support ALL the members activities and always make time to be with them in whatever they are doing. He call himself a SHAWOL (SHINee fan) as well. He is the emotional backbone of the group, and the "glue" he never shows his emotions most of the time and always tried to be the "ROCK" for the other members in emotional breakdowns. He is like a big brother to Taemin and scold him a lot, he had became best friend with Key and he is always the first one to notice when something is going wrong with him also it seems he have access to his house (knows the password), and have being seen severals times taking care of Key dogs. He always had an eye on Onew and lived with him for 11 years, till Onew enlisted. He used to biker with jonghyun a lot, since he was tall and jjong was really small and make fun of it, LOL. But they just liked to play with each other ,and Minho was his #1 fan not only as singer but as radio host, he listened, called and even went to the radio station several times as surprise even in his last show . It was said that he was the first one to get to the hospital when he got the news... Since he is the strongest emotionally speaking he was the lead in the funeral procession. He also is GREAT with kids, he really love them. And have said that he want to grow old as SHINee. In case no one has mentioned these facts Onew is pronounced O + NEW He has one solo ballad album called Voice with the title track Blue. The MV is on the SMtown channel, released before he serves the military. It's an easy listening kinda album. Especially when you need to chill alone for some peace and calm. This album is so Onew. Key also has a solo album called Face in 2018 released before his military service, with the title track Forever Yours ft Soyou. He included one all English song for his international fans, called Imagine. Minho released a single called I'm Home before his military service. Surprise surprise. As a rapper, he does not rap a single line in this song. He sings. And the song a gentle mid tempo piece, hmmm ballad-ish somewhat. So different from his rapper persona. Hahaha I'm not good at describing music genres. As you can see, Shinee members love their Shawols so much. They leave parting gifts for us before serving the country. And Taemin worked hard to promote Shinee during his solo work and as a sub grp member of SuperM. And Shawols worked hard to spread Shinee's talent during the hiatus. Amazing to see so many new shawols when Shinee wasn't active.

Ten years ago, SHINee was like BTS, now it was a legendary band and still doing great songs and very popular all over the world with the passage of years, SHINee is really getting luster and shine😍😎👑

He have no filter when it comes to talk about his members, and always have to be warned by his member not to swear in public ,since it seems he does it a lot. He is called "Magic hands" cuz he lose or broke things most of the time, they keep him OUT of the kitchen, since he does not know how to cook and with his magic hands anything could happen. When he was younger and still in middle school his member used to take turns to take him to school, when he debuted he had to change from school to a special one since he was being harrased and bullied. Their debut song did not had his voice cuz he was still too young and his vocal cords eere not matured, he was called tone deaf. I remember how he used to look at Onew and jonghyun singing so amazed, it was soo cute back then!! Onew and jonghyun gave him vocals lessons and he worked so hard ,he even had nose bleed when he worked for hours in his vocals. Now he is one of the most repected Kpop idols and a lot of new idols have him as inspiration. He NEVER talked about his emotions before , till jonghyun passed away, and he recived psicological help, he have started to speak more about his feelings .... and relay a lot in to his faith ( he is a catholic christian) and music. He LOVES Onew to the core, he repect him so much, but as well use him some times , lol. He have said that if he have to get money urgent he would ask Onew since he would never ask him to repay him. He usually like to tease his members ,but usually never take it against Onew. He admired jonghyun a lot, for him was the best singer. He like to bother Key and Minho (more key) a lot, they are very funny together.
