Grab the back of the board, then use your arm to lever the board over. You can use your back knee to stabilize the board and to make sure the board stays sideways until you can get some power in the sail. You have to start with the board on its side. Make sure your feet are more on the windward side of the board. You can recover from having too much weight on the windward side but not the leeward edge.
