Whats up with the guy's nose ring? I used to have one of those nose rings in the middle of my nose but never thought of it as relating to our ancient European forebears. So what gives?
While scarification and tattoos were common there is no real evidence of piercings in Viking culture.. also a nose ring or anything physically attached to the body that could be grabbed and used to manipulate your body would be deemed an impediment by anyone who might be engaged in close personal combat hence the tight braided hair or bald heads even hair could be a disadvantage. ( But that last part is just me opinion)
