I realize this was 7yrs ago, but this man's guitar playing is still worth commenting on. I could listen to him play for hrs. Very impressive, a true master of his craft! Thank you sir👏👏👏
One of the few of the younger generation of classical guitarists that I like. Most of today's younger players sacrifice musicality and feeling for speed and technical prowess. Celil plays with both feeling and skill, he doesnt rush though the pieces trying to impress with technical ability, he appreciates the beauty of the pieces. He will one day be ranked with the likes of Bream, Williams, Russell etc I'm my humble opinion. I don't think you can say that about most players today.
Mr Kaya, the best of all. An outstanding performance! The selection of peaces is a pure demonstration and proof of musical maturity! A pure genius! Bravo!
I wouldn ´t have believed before, that it is possible to play Bach on a guitar, but Your play is fantastic and really hiting the style of Bach ! More than that: The sound of the guitar is softer than the piano and You are able to play with more expression - wonderful ! All the pieces are touching my heart. Thank You for sharing !
Exquisitas interpretaciones. ¡Bravo Celil!,
I love this piece by Albeniz. Played wonderfully. You can tell that it is not a piece written for the guitar. And that's what make it so original. Amazing. GD
The fact that this is a competition torments me. Why can't it just be a showcase? Is there really such a thing as "best" guitarist? At this level of performance I imagine the guitarists are looking at each other thinking "how could I possibly come close to that?". When you've reached a level where your proficiency defines you, hearing others play and their interpretations must come down to subjectivity.
Because the prize they win is about $30,000, they get a NAXOS CD recording and approximately 50 concerts on a US tour. They compete to win that. Really much of comes down to who doesn't crack under the pressure and make one small error as that can be the difference between winning or losing
Hi Cellil.. U r blessed with a good memory and touch with perfection as far as possible.. There is dedication with perseverance felt justifying dude.. I did enjoy and experience through different composer's pieces their interpretation reasonably.. Their was a fair amount of musicality with dynamic colours and a good timbre projecting the melody or main theme while the counterpoint or bass lines were weaving equally audible in extreme pp' or ff' levels either.. Please keep it up dude.. God bless you.. Warm cheers.. siva.. gtr.. cbe.. 👌🎉👍💐🙏🎶😊🎼
Oh for gawdsakes, can't we have proper recordings of these astounding instrumentalists!!?? Why is it that these presentations have such inferior recording tech??
There's a few things at play here. They did not want an obstructed view of the performance. Hence the mic is very low to the ground. The mic looks like it might be a Telefunken M60 or similar pencil condenser mic. These are very nice microphones. They want to portray a natural uncompressed sound. I imagine it sounded beautiful in the auditorium. What the board captures will not be nearly as robust as what is projected from the speakers and into that resonant hall. Honestly, it sounds beautiful to me. This isn't a studio recording. Far more natural sounding. They could have mic'd the room but that would introduce a lot more audience noise than is already present.
@@castor5001 Honestly i can't say why Jara win, it could be on so many little things, but im sure it was very close between the contestants (there was also Pavel Kukhta and Andrea De Vitis who are incredible musicians). Im just saying that it's wrong to say that Celil was "clearly superior".
@@MrSuperpatoo I play classics guitar and my son is a Symphony Orchestra player ( clarinet). This competition are not good for our instrument. It separate classic guitar from the music world. The judge from this competition should be musicians from other instruments, with music scores with them. Also requires an ensemble performance with other instruments. Put a classics guitar player in rock, jazz or any other music group and see what happens. Can we play first sight maybe not... Can we play by ear maybe not.... Can we improvise maybe not. You get the point.
@@gergthims I am quite sure, as my guitar is nearly identical (same maker and style of construction). Glenn is not the first one to do a balsa double top, but it is still an extremely recent development in terms of the entire history of the guitar.
@@aytahnbenavi Thank you, Aytahn: sorry to have doubted you, but I build model airplanes using balsa, and a guitar made of balsa (I should say, 'using balsa') seemed like a plastic hammer. I'll bet they exist, too!)
Sevgili Celil'in üzerinde emeği geçenlere, özellikle Raffi Hocama ne mutlu!
"Dear Celil, in my opinion, you are the next step from Manuel Barrueco (not the others); You play very balanced without sacrificing music. I can refer to almost all of your performances."
derya abicim anlaşıldığı kadarıyla gitar müziğinden anlamaktasınız. yıllardır barrueco nun neden güzel bach çaldığını anlamaya çalıştım biraz izah ederseniz çok sevinirim. şimdiden teşekkürler.
Jo Moreels Gould is best pianist ever for me too. But Gould's legendry performances Can not be compared to anyone. I'm turksh like Celil Refik Kaya, but Kaya's performanses not as considered as Gould's...
Glenn Gould is amazing. But he was really inspired in Bach playing by Maria Yudina. And so many unknown russian pianists that were unbelievable. We know for sure what the industry recorded in our own interest. So many giants forgotten.
His playing is beyond superb, and he is amongst my very favourite of young players. However I don't care for the sound of his instrument, it certainly has great dynamic range but, as with others with its style of construction, it is a one trick pony in the timbre department.
What I observe are marginal differences between players where I see little new. Take Cataluna from Albeniz for example. Manuel Barruecco has set the standard and since then many have started using it. But all those results do not add a new artistic element to what M.B. did in the eighties. No matter how well some people play, the differences between these covers are marginal, predictable and I boring to my feeling. This discussion goes further than just this competition. It It is about uniformity, artistry, personal and musical development. I think that because everyone wants to look alike (unlike players like Bream, Yepes, Segovia and Williams who are / were authentic in their own way and follow their own path) the artistic element of individuality and deepening is hardly ever entered. wanting to understand the underlying reason, superficial reactions come in such as: you can turn off the button or I hear no Asturias, well ... It is no wonder that guitarists can barely fill half a Wigmore Hall.
To me these competititions are to academical, dull and predictable. The players all have a fantastic technique and play with devotion. Yet at the same time I don't feel that competitions and art go together in an organic way. And why don't players improvise and compose also, because that is the classical tradition? I'dd rather hear an own composition which is simple, then Asturias for the 100 st time with a few minor mistakes. What is more exciting then exploring your inner landscape and putting that journey on the map?
I love listening to these academical, dull(?), and predictable(?) competitions. I don't know what you are observing this performance on, but on my computer screen at the top there is a line with all the open windows. The window I am listening to has a mute button and an x. If I personally wanted to listen to something else, I do not, what I would do is to hit the x, and this performance that offends you so would disapear from your ears, open a new window to you tube and select what I did want to hear from you tubes limited avalable selections. I would have been there to enjoy that performance personally were I able to...
@@scottripley5764 Of course, but I assumed that the concentrated reader would understand why I mentioned this piece as an example, it goes beyond this particular performance.
No entiendo por qué no gana... Más expresión y articulación que los demás

No importa amigo .
