Im having difficulty in sleeping due to anxiety. I usually put this on to sleep. Also, im planning on buying this pedal. Thank you so much for this wonderful music.
I pulled the trigger on the Skylar because of this demo, easily the best video on this pedal! Funny thing is I find myself coming back to this video even though I now own it, something about the music that is very calming 🙏❤
I’m aware that, on the specular tempus, you can’t play any reverb algorithm with any delay algorithm but are all the verbs from skylar and delays from orca present on the spec temp? Man, their dsp algorithms are ridiculously good. I’m trying to decide between the spec temp, skylar, or empress reverb. The Empress Algos are also pretty top notch
This is such a great demo :) Where are you putting the Skylar in the signal chain? Is it after your Two Notes Captor X, with the stereo output running into the Skylar and then Skylar into your Apollo in stereo? Looking to build a similar setup with my Fender Princeton!
I think GFI has some of the best digital processing, and have pretty often said the Specular Tempus is a good alternative to the CXM. These sound just as good and are even more affordable!
Trs means tip, ring, sleeve It's kind of like a headphone jack you'd find on like apple earphones Its basically just left output, right output, and ground (I think) all in one cable, so if your amp has a trs input you can play in stereo You can also use an adapter to connect two mono cables from the trs to a stereo amp or two amps side by side to achieve a stereo sound like that as well.
Well I have the specular v3 which I love but it doesn't have the plate verb... Sooooooo. Guess I'll have to aquire this as well... Weird that it's cheaper than the specular?... thx for the review
Such a shame there is no midi 😪 I know that this is aimed at those wanting a simpler experience, but if you have presets, then I gotta have it. I also don't want to run a long cable to pedalboard for something in the loop. Sounds killer though....
Speculation temps with Triple switch or Skylar Orca combo? Which one is bigger size wise? What is the advantage buying skylar orca instead of spec tempus? Thanks! Great playing as always
Tempus + triple switch would be slightly bigger, but you get more modes and a few other features. But if you like to keep it simple, the Skylar + Orca combo has all you’ll need in a more straight forward interface
On the Skylar, when you switch from preset A to B, does A trail into B? Also, the exact opposite, if you are on B, and say it’s your HUGE verb for swells and what not, and you go back to A for normal reverb sound, does it trail into A? That was always a big complaint for me with the Strymon bluesky and it’s favorite switch. You could set the favorite as a huge reverb but when you switched the favorite off, it was instantly cut off!
I am between this and the Alexander Pedals Space Race. I use a Flamma FS02 mod reverb and was going to keep a Eventide Space but need to not have that much money in a pedal right now. In a general sense I like modulated Reverb, some sort of haul variety. I like shimmer, reverse and out there sounds as well. A nice plate Reverb is a nice alternative. No I think that either of the pedal and some considering will work with your experience what is the difference in the modulated Reverb sounds and the ability to have at least one preset to switch between?
I have a question - if I don't have any of that yet but I like these algorithms, what would be a better choice: to buy Specular Tempus or to buy these 2 separate pedals instead? What are the pros/cons of any option?
Specular Tempus can only run one algorithm at a time, so no delay + reverb. The individual pedals have less modes but more immediate controls and you can use the two of them together for delay + reverb
@@collectoremitterthe Specular Tempus has a few algorithms that have delay AND reverb. If you're looking at a Skylar+Orca.. 100% just get the Specular Tempus instead.
can u make a VS with the Fathom walrus or the slo? thanks. uve earned a sub. Cheers from Colombia-South America. What is your concept. if you ever tried any of walrus. Is this GFI reverb better? thanks
During the video he states he is using TRS output.. small pedal, makes sense they’d use TRS connections for stereo. I have 4 reverbs and very tempted by this :) it would be great for a small/quick travel board…
@@cloydibones1709 yes, it is true stereo but uses the "tip-ring-sleave" plug... so instead of looking like a typical guitar cable end (or patch cable end) it looks like a larger headphone cable end. You can use a (mini) insert cable - one end is 2 mono jacks and the other end is a stereo plug. I use a stereo pedalboard and for years now some of my pedals have this method and some have 2 in's and out's. Here is a link to the ones I use: www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/EBSICY30--ebs-icy-30-right-angle-flat-insert-cable-30cm
