Good stuff. Love the lid flips. This truck just spells excessive, from the huge arm, the the GFL lime green, to the pusher axle jammed on. I was actually in Dearborn Saturday and wondered who collected there. Seen a lot of Stevens carts on the opposite side of the road, so I instantly knew we were at a boarder haha

Definitely over the top. Not sure where you where, Steven's doesn't get anywhere close to Dearborn. Closest city is Riverview.

Man I’m a huge fan of this. I personally love unpredictable arms. You know, when you can never tell if it will lid flip or not. This truck is a perfect example of this. How many of these are around? Any way. Amazing job as always! Keep it up!

GFL has about 30 or so, Syracuse Haulers in NY has one split body of these, and there are a few demos from G-S. Those are all I know of.

What a strange (and noisy!) arm design! What they should do is, well, grease it for starters! But the grippers are so narrow, it really squeezes those 96 Casacades. And Cascades are fairly narrow cans, if it squeezes Cascades, it’ll crush anything else like Regrigs and Toters. G-S should definitely space out those grippers. It’d probably work well with older Ottos. Next they should reduce the kick-out arc. The Collecstar 8000 (I believe) was great since it rasied the can along the side of the truck. This one is almost as bad as an Autoreach! Great stuff as always! Keep up the good work! ✌🏻

As you may know, before they went under, Rizzo Environmental Services had a lot of these Freightliners in their fleet. Since GFL took them over, this truck does indeed look to be another "Rizzo special" as I often call them....and a freshly painted one too I might add. Speaking of which, many of them are actually still being repainted as we speak. "Michigan Vehicle Solutions" (they're located at the old Saturn dealership on Fort St. near the Southgate Meijer) is just one of the companies that has been repainting them lately.

Definitely needs a lot of grease to keep this thing quiet. GFL has since loosened up the gripper belts, which helps quite a bit. The older CollecStars work well with the minimal kickout, however these are hell out here in Dearborn.

Thanks for the info, Josh! I am in that area quite frequently, so i may have to stop there and check them out. I know they are repainting as fast as possible, and MVS is doing a great job.

My pleasure, Harrison! They are indeed doing a great job with the repainting so far. I'm glad to offer any info when I can! I frequently shop at the Meijer next store and have noticed a few of Rizzo's old trucks there. I'm sure that they wouldn't mind having you film as that would be a really interesting process to see!

Great video, man! Good job! On that note, the only thing that I don't like about these arms is that they can easily damage your garbage cart over time due to all of the pulling, squeezing and lifting from the automated arm on the truck itself. I'm not saying that it's the driver's fault, because it's not, but after about a year and a half of having my new garbage cart, it's starting to look pretty beat up. But I'm sure it can take the abuse, just as long as my wheels or lid don't come off anytime soon! Haha!

The gripper belts are the mainissue, since they are so tight and gripping the can rather than the arm itself. Since they have been loosened, the grippers have been performing much better.

It's a nice attempt, but inefficient compared to all other ASLs. I'm not against the old arm, as it actually works fairly well and is a decent piece of machinery.
