gfriend's god tier "passionate melancholy" holy trinity: 1. time for the moonight 2. sunrise 3. crossroads the music, the singing, the lyrics, the choreography, all those elements are combined into a work of art to tell a story of an ongoing epic saga that spans from their debut era. next i suggest you react to gfriend's take on "girl crush" concept: 1. fingertip 2. labyrinth
Gfriend songs are filled with key changes it's so intriguing, and their instrumentals are art really, i love how they are one of the very few groups who work with actual orchestral musicians. Also the high note in time for the moon night is literally the hardest high note by an idol of 3rd gen, even yuju (the one who does the high note) herself sometimes can't get through it
With Time for the Moon Night, Gfriend create a new genre called by the Korean media as "Powerful Nostalgia". Gfriend usually likes trilogys and in this one "Passionate Melancholy" (TFTMN, Sunrise and Crossroads) they had huge successful. Fun fact: TFTMN has a darker video but a brighter music and Sunrise a brighter video but a darker music what makes them a perfect image of the sun and the moon opposites philosophy. Both are the same, but different. Next you need to react to: - Crossroads - Fingertip - Rough - Navillera
Fifi has really impeccable hearing and knowledgeable musical understanding when it came to GFRIEND's "TFTMN" because THAT song won their third most musical wins. (I've been fact checked lol) Imo, the whole arrangement is sooooo well crafted! EVERYTHING about it is a masterpiece!
You are hitting the heart of Gfriend's "Passionate Melancholy" era where their orchestra pop sound truly stands out while dealing with more somber themes in their songs. BTW, both songs share the same composer. Glad to see how much you enjoyed the listening.
glad you liked both these songs because it's not typically the type of kpop songs that get a lot of love from western listeners for your next gfriend video, it would be cool if you check out navillera and fingertip (both upbeat songs with heavy retro and funk influences) or crossroads and summer rain (closer to sunrise and tftmn soundscape, with more focus on emotions and lyrical storytelling)
Gfriend have made a lot of great songs but Time for the Moon Night is God Tier for me. Out of all their songs, it has the most "soul" in it if that make sense.
Time For the Moon Night won Best Instrumental at Gaon Charts Awards way back the year it was released. GFRIEND's music is literally recorded thru an orchestra unlike the most of kpop groups' music which is computer generated. And that is the reason why GFRIEND standout with their unique music💕✨
I mean all they did was debut as legends I'll fight someone on that😂.In all seriousness they're a once in a lifetime group that run they had when they began will remain in history. No need to talk about the dancing top tier easily vocals just watch them live all visuals all a rounders period. Also happen to be one of the funniest groups around Gfriend has it all.Not to mention Buddy is super chill, helpful for anyone new and, just a great fandom. That's my love letter to Gfriend Stan them its 100% worth it love to all BUDDY❤ fighting!!
Gfriend are ART. Musical masterpieces are everywhere from them not just the catchy tunes that some other groups release. Their music has so much depth to it.
Almost all GFRIEND song has different/multiple key changes n it will shock you each time, trust me, you will never disappointed with their music. Their Japanese MV/release are a piece of an ART. Thank You for making Gfriend as one of your permanent group to react. The rumor said they will comeback on JUNE, if you become a Buddy (their fans), June will be your first cb with them. 2 MV that I want you to react from them is FINGERTIP MV and ROUGH MV. GFRIEND has their own lore/storyline in each of their mv, so some mv has their break part of storyline
I wish u react to next GFRIEND MV: 1. Fallin' Light (Japanese MV) 2. Memoria (Japanese MV) 3. Fingertip If u wanna checking out gfriend bside "Masterpieces" Here is my recommendation: 1. Labyrinth 2. Emotional Days 3. Rainbow 4. Here We Are 5. Eye of The Storm 6. Better Me 7. GWRM 8. Wheel Of The Year 9. My! My! My! 10. Hear The Wind Sing 11. Vacation 12. Windy Windy 13. Flower Garden 14. I just love how my girls (Gfriend) made her smile the entire time throughout the vid. That's what they're for, making every mood lighten up with their upbeat emotional songs. I always love your cute reaction about the music production every time hahaha like Gfriend only produce God tier sound.
I think Gfriend didn't have the value they deserved. I see a lot of people really surprised with the songs and their talent. Fifi's reaction represents me !!! Thank you for THIS!!! ♥
i knew you were gonna love them 😭😭😭😭😭 their b-sides are so good too, maybe next you should react to crossroads and fever??? they came out between sunrise and apple pd: tftmn makes me cry every time
Thank you for keep the GFRIEND´s name alive. I agree...Sunrise is not only the best kpop music masterpiece, but also one of the universal music masterpieces... All of GFRIEND's songs are good, but there are some that are like being slapped with the delicate hand of a princess that tells you "wake up... what were you doing not to listen to this musical genius?" What GFRIEND's music does to the brain is a complete cleaning in the neurons and, consequently, we find our good taste in music again... Thank you for your reactions to these GFRIEND songs, the group we love so much...
Finally! I've been looking forward to this day when I see this week's schedule. Sunrise is one of the Gfriend masterpiece ♥ Maybe you can try to listen Love Whisper and Summer Rain. These two MV has similar sound but LW is happy side and SR is sad side and SR is title track for repackage album for Parallel (LW)
What I like with Gfriend is that they've never fallen in the instrumental chorus trend. Their chorus are majoritary driven by vocals, and I love that. (And I'm not saying I don't like instrumental choruses, I just like the fact that they keep doing what works for them no matter what the trend is)
these 2 and crossroads are my top3 gfriend title tracks, but honestly i think you'll like every title tracks by them because the instrumental is amazing in every single song, im excited for you to react to some of their bsides in the future!!
I love GFriend so much. Anyway... I think you have watched the best ones I would recommend diving into the old videos for you to see their growth. I love how their style changed over time.
I’m glad you’re enjoying their discography so much. Not a lot of K-Pop fans like orchestral pop-style music. These two songs were actually the ones that got me into GFRIEND.
Gfriend have their own type of music that why their are special, only visual, vokal , synchronized in dance, and the live sound of their music make you speechless and happy.
Glad you liked them, you will never be disappointed You need to react to navillera & fingertip Fever & crossroads Also thier Japanese releases are INCREDIBLE !! Specially memoria and Fallin light
Glad you liked these songs and GFRIEND! :D Based on your reactions so far, I think you would love GFRIEND's Japanese releases, so I recommend- 1. Fallin' Light 2. La Pa Pam (bside) Out of GFRIEND's remaining title tracks, I think you would like these two the most 1. Crossroads 2. Summer Rain But if you are curious about a different sort of GFRIEND sound you could try listening to other title tracks too, such as Fever or Fingertip And finally I'm just going to recommend some of my favorite bsides because I am a sucker for these songs 1. Wheel of the Year 2. Say My Name 3. Someday 4. Compass 5. Water Flower 6. Mermaid 7. Ave Maria 8. Contrail 9. Rainbow 10. Flower Garden 11. Love In The Air 12. You Are Not Alone 13. Our Secret 14. Mr. Blue 15. Here We Are 16. Eye Of The Storm 17. Tarot Cards 18. Night Drive (Subunit song by two members- Yuju and Eunha) 19. My! My! My! (Japanese bside) 20. Emotional Days (Japanese bside)
We are so happy you are enjoying their music!!! I might recommend you to listen to "Crossroads" which came before Apple, and imo it sounds like a mix of Sunrise and Time for the moon night but still has its uniqueness 😳 Their bsides are on another level as well tho, next time we should recommend you some of them ;)
When Gfriend literally shocked when they are climbing the charts again in that era. They said that the chartings are low (2017) when they release this. The charts broke when Time for the moon night is climbing.
Gfriend are fantastic. To me their music is wonderful, partially because there’s almost always something really dynamic or theatrical about their music. Apple, these two tracks, Mago too, as well as so many other songs of theirs, have those flares to them. There’s already so many recommendations here, so I don’t really have any new ones. I’m just so looking forward to when you look further into their discography, because their b-sides have that same flare that you love so much for these songs. Their older albums feel really nostalgic to me, not only because they’re early Gfriend, but also the production of them as a whole. Apple’s EP Song of the Sirens felt really quirky, while Walpurgis Nacht is practically an adventure of their different songs. I think in that album, you’ll really enjoy Night Drive, if you end up wanting to react to those Side note: something I really appreciate about your reactions is that you comment and praise vocal moments that aren’t just the high notes. You also appreciate those, but when you say ‘vocals’ at different points for specific melodies, it’s lovely to see, because other less ‘flashy’ melodies have a lot to love as well
I'm glad you reacted to these two masterpieces! They really are amazing, everything about it, the vocals, the instrumentation, the production, the execution. Since you loved Sunrise and TFTMN so much, I recommend you more of their orchestral pop sound. Crossroads is also beautiful, and also two of their japanese songs that have MVs as well: Memoria and Fallin' Light. I'm sure you will love them as well!
crossroads is the third sister of sunrise and tftmn among korean title tracks, but there are japanese ones (memoria and fallin' light) that i would also add to those three
You should check out Gfriend’s song LA PAM PAM sounds like a symphony in heaven 😍😍 one of my favorite songs from gfriend I wish they would’ve made it a title track and have a MV that song Is too great
Since you reacted to other songs, the rests are : 1. Fingertip & Fever (possibly to add "Labyrinth" but it only has dance practice, not MV) 2. Glass Bead (debut song) & Love Whisper 3. Navillera & Sunny Summer 4. Summer Rain & Crossroads 5. Memoria, Flower, Fallin' Light (Japanese releases) I tried to put songs in pretty similar feelings...somehow but not really, because you reacted to other songs like Mago, Apple, Rough, Me Gustas Tu, Sunrise, Time for the Moon Night. Love your reactions here~
Time for the moon night is so good. I rlly love the production is. The visual of MV, the song sound so magical, along with their mysterious storyline. The 1st time I heard this song I rlly got addicted with the MV & 'Bam' part.
Love Whisper and Summer Rain MVs are also music you haven't checked out yet. They're so good there. Everything, from music and production is perfect all throughout. 😭🤧
Summer rain and crossroads next pls. If you will check their b sides prepare your heart because the melodies and instrumentations are the best. Rainbow and you are not alone is my favorite b sides because whenever I listen to this it heals me lol.
Definitely Crossroad !! Another song with strong orchestra elements. Gfriend is telling a story through their MVs, but the story line is quite complicated, I need to watch videos that RU-vidrs explaining the MV so I can get the story XD
