@@mryunman1 Garuda can be a lot more plus if you hit late in the active frames (which there are a lot of). It can become +25

Now I feel I must preface what I am about to say; I’m not a competitive fgc member, guilty gear is not my main game even for casual play, and I in no way mean any disrespect to Potemkin mains. I love me a grappler. That said, that sounds like sour grapes about not being the “big guy” in the match up. Literally everything they are complaining about is exactly what other people say about fighting against Potemkin. A grappler’s main game plan is to win 1-2 interactions so they can get stupid damage off of command throws. Talk about risk/reward. Not being able to throw out megafist? Sounds like not being able to jump in. Complaining about BT pressure? And potemkin’s huge normals and armored charge don’t fill the same role? I’m not saying that they can’t complain about a match-up they don’t enjoy, I just noticed these things and felt like adding my perspective.

@@TheEpicGnome having to get in on an opponent in this game with poor normals is not easy ..Pot has so many bad mu it ain’t even funny ..This mu it’s just ridiculous,if you take away mega fist and a character that has multiple hits to break through his armor than what’s the point ? Ain’t no skill pro player scared of pot what’s so ever ..You never seen pot win any tournaments either so yea he’s definitely the under dog in this fight .

@@TheEpicGnome Behemoth Typoon puts you in Guard Crush which ends the game if you're in the corner because it does extreme chip damage through block, makes him +14 at the minimum, enforces a terrifying mix which will kill you if you get hit twice at the maximum and once if you're squishy. BT pressure is also extremely effective because Goldlewis can space DP, BT kills fuzzies and his Oki will always be far enough for you to not be able to grab him. Potemkin is a power grappler with one overwhelmingly powerful tool in Garuda Impact which is the strongest Okizeme tool in the game, giving him access to Guard Crush and making him +19. He strikes hard and has great corner pressure with his strike-throw mix being more tenable of a situation to land at mid-screen. He has good damage and health, and his far slash and heavy slashes are good poke tools albeit useless for combos if Potemkin doesn't have the meter to convert. Hammerfall is mostly just a worse version of dash for Potemkin because its minus in block and easily punishable. The difference is that Goldlewis has ways to force an interaction like his space laser and anti-zoning tools like his Drone or Minigun. Potemkin has none of that and he automatically loses to Laser if he doesn't have meter. Potemkin doesn't have any anti-spacing tools. He doesn't have an invincible reversal unless you're a god tier player and his optimal combo execution is Street Fighter 1 special move level difficult with how his kara cancels have 3 frame links. Potemkin's one and only win condition is getting close, getting a knockdown and then doing insane 50/50s. There's a reason why Potemkin is the worst character in Strive and Goldlewis is top 5

any character who has to advance into goldlewis' range is gunna struggle, this one is rough for pot

@@Hawko1313 Sol also kinda has to get into Goldlewis' range as well, but he has strong enough movement and range to not struggle too much. Pot struggles because he's a big body character with slow moves.

Are you really complaining about a low teir character like GL ,lol. GL struggles to get in so I don't know what you are talking about. The two characters that have parries as their main gimmick are mid teir at best, with Baiken being mid-teir and Anji being bottom two with Laust. Happy Chaos issue I agree with, but he wasn't intended to be fully play like that. Hope the next patch deals with him appropriately. Also anime fighters neutral aren't anything like KOF or SF. Some characters in this games even have moves that say fuck neutral. That is to be expected since this games have a greater character power than KOF and SF. That why we enjoy them, and hopefully with Strive next balance patch, the game will get crazier.

@@rachetmarvel931 I didn't even think of anji, i was thinking of leo so yea, THREE characters with omni-parry, and you see plenty of baikens in tournys to be 'mid-tier at best'. The game really only has a couple characters that can't just ham-fist a thorn bush of moves out in neutral, hoping someone walks into them. Easy games draw broader audiences, that's a fact. Easy fighters cater to trash players, that's my opinion. How many gimmicks do you need to get the dub?
