🔎 About socials:
If I tag socials, then this should be done for ALL players (without a single exception), and not just for one person. Socials of some players can not be found (players with default nicknames, some Asian players, etc). I am convinced that it's extremely dishonest to tag contacts of few people and not to tag all the rest, so there will be no social links in description.
But I respect the players whose matches I post. Therefore, if you are sure that videos presented "as is" are not acceptable, I will stop posting content with your participation and remove the ones posted earlier.

@@UncleMerlintill ABA jumps/leaps /low profiles one cube burst or 2d or even just her fuck neutral super and shes in. Its pretty hard to keep her out when moroha (not imposible, still a winning mu for Asuka tho)

I wondered how they'd balance the jealousy stance and keep true to her character. Then noticing she doesn't have blood bags that means if you can limit her offense she's fucked. I assume this is what fighting games hell looks like. Across the screen with no resource with an Auska throwing spells.

It's just a bad match up. The way ABA can deal with zoners is to parry the attacks to gain jealous rage. And use the gained jealous rage to be a rushdown character, which is a nightmare for the zoners.

@@peeenguinne3858”All she has to do is perfectly time every parry against projectiles” yeah and all Baiken has to do is parry every single one of your normals and she wins the match but I never see anybody make that argument. Also Zoner was parrying quite a few of the projectiles but they just kept coming, and some of them were multiple hit projectiles which means if you whiff that parry once you’re dead against a good Asuka.

@@Evannd97 that's why I said it was a bad match up? I never even said that ABA HAD to perfectly parry those attacks. I just said that it was the tool given to her so that she won't be completely helpless against dedicated zoners. What do you expect? A character should have no bad match ups? Every character has their pros and cons, and ABA is no different. She's weak to zoners, that's it. She has the parry to make her not completely helpless against them, or else, people would just spam zoning tools against her, and she'll be dead. Again, I'm going to repeat it thrice for you to comprehend. ABA is weak to zoners, but you can't expect her to be completely weak to them, that's why her kit is fundamentally equipped with parry and command dash, to at least not make her completely helpless. Don't expect arcsys, or any fighting game in general to create a character with all strengths but without flaws.

@@peeenguinne3858 Oh give me a break, there are very clearly characters equipped with fundamentally better kits against all mu’s. Arcsys obviously has their favorites in Strive, and everyone else has had to be buffed every single patch for them to even keep up at a competitive level. I know the mu will get better either with the meta developing or her falling into the “cracked on paper, bad in game” category that’s plagued several characters in Strive and she will eventually get buffed. I understood your initial point, but the “all she had to do is parry everything lols” “erm there are actually no characters that are completely broken in Strive 🤓” takes are so laughably disinformed its like you just picked up the game.

A.B.A will need to learn how to parry Asuka's cubes better and then use her get in tools, such as run, double jump and dash. Plus find good moments to use the door super. MU seems shit but I think it'll get labbed

They were parrying a good amount of the projectiles, are you saying to win this mu ABA has to parry every single projectile when Asuka’s in God mode infinite projectile loop? Good luck not whiffing it and exploding with the multiple hit cubes lol. ABA is going to be fundamentally tough to unlock. It’s a paradox, at default you’re just itching to get into her stance and hopefully go sick-o mode and delete your opponents health bar with gorilla pressure, cracked mobility, and insane normals. You then quickly realize that being gorilla and reckless like you want to only gets you killed, instead is actually going to require the most patience and mu knowledge to play than any other character. We’ll see how her meta develops, I want to be hopeful but I got the same reaction when Testament first came out. Looked insane on paper and in the start out guide but eventually needed some slight buffs.

@@Evannd97 Unironically yes, she should learn to parry them all. She should make Asuka have to think twice about just throwing out a projectile. Also should mix it up with just deleting them with P and K buttons or using her command dash to get in. Also use the kick special to get in and try to start opressing Asuka. ABA has surprisingly decent pressure when close up.

@@OccuredJakub12 She has some surprisingly decent normals and yeah serviceable pressure with her plus on block key grab but no way to enforce it otherwise without RC which is fine I suppose. I don’t think she’s currently a bad character by any means I just think all the “just get good and parry everything” takes are oversimplified and misinformed. The startup and recovery on her parry is deceivingly slow, you can see Zoner tried to parry everything in Asuka’s god mode projectile loop but eventually ends up whiffing because Asuka’s frames and recovery are faster. It’s not a question of whether or not parrying everything is a valid mu technique, it’s whether it’s even possible with her current frame data on it. Slow start up and recovery make it risky to try to chain parry, and there are no recovery frames for the opponent upon successful parry that I currently know of. At least that’s what I’ve experienced in game and have seen with other ABA players.

Honestly, they need to give ABA a way to deal with just getting bursted by zoners, the fact she has to use 50% meter to bait burst or she's guaranteed to run out of jealousy meter because of burst is more than a minor oversight. The fact ABA has no reasonable way to bait burst so she can keep her offense combined with positive giving burst back now is just too much. Literally your opponent breaks the wall on you and you legit are probably just dead, too many YRC & bursts and you are on the back foot with likely 0 jealousy meter.

I can say from the other side as a zoner player if we can't burst her she would just run us over. Most of the time as a zoner you spend it running from ABA with teleports or whatever cause if she touches you, you lose.

No disrespect to Zoner, they're an amazing player, and this match-up does look hard for normal mode A.B.A, but I'll wait until Gobou fights an Asuka player. It's pretty clear that Zoner doesn't know how to fight the character - no attempts to even destroy the cubes, or use 6P > rekka when in range to stop the Asuka player's turn, they did not look at the spells and could have baited the Ice Spike/DP - this is the most basic Asuka counterplay, and I only saw about one of those things applied like twice during this whole set. I watched ばある's stream and they played an Asuka who was as good, or better than this Asuka player, and they broke every cube they could, used 6P > rekka to destroy the cubes and counterhit the Asuka player, parried the cubes to fill up the Moroha gauge, and then went on the offense and kept Moroha mode gauge almost full after every wallbreak. I know it's way easier said than done, but I wouldn't base how hard this match-up is from a player who doesn't really know how to fight Asuka; like Gobou and Baaru do. It's like watching Latif get destroyed by Asuka players and assuming that's how hard the MU is, when Gobou farms good Asuka players with Zato on a daily basis. I think the match-up would have looked hard for Zoner's I-No at this point as well.

In all fairness, it's going to be expected when: - This character isn't even a month old, meaning that people are *still learning her.* - Both characters snowball incredibly quickly. - The asuka player has likely been playing for a while at this point. - The A.B.A player was using her command dash, which goes under Asuka's cubes, quite sparingly. Don't get me wrong, it's still a horrible matchup for A.B.A, but I don't think you're getting why that's the case at all.

@@what_did_you_expect you dont even have to preface it with "all fairness here," GGST is a very well-balanced game no matter how you slice it. some characters are more dominant than others and asuka is strong but the gap between 'worst character in the game' and 'best character in the game' is smaller in strive than in pretty much any other GG game. a day 5 aba who isnt using her moves effectively versus a character who's been out for a year is going to look busted no matter what, it doesn't mean the game is a shitshow
