My question is why these thieves took this thing away over 100 years ago? I suspect this is not original one

The British attacked Asante just to illegally control its gold and other rich resources like good timber. They burnt Kumasi,exiled the Asantehene,his family and powerful Asante Chiefs and the great Yaa Asantewaah who led Asante in the War of 1900. Apart from the Artefacts,the British stole more than 400,000 ounces of Gold from the burnt Palace in Kumasi,this is worth more than 2 billion pounds today and the British MUST pay this amount to Asante.

I dont think Ghanaians are going to return these artefacts to the thieves, it doesnt even sound well for the thief to design a return policy of looted goods.

It wasn't during colonial rule. They looted and burned Kumasi during the last Anglo -Asante war in 1900. After which the Asante empire was forced by the British to release its teritorial claim on the coastal areas (Gold Coast) and other territories. The Asante empire was reduced to a state and in 1901, the British form Gold Coast Colony which included the coastal areas and other territories the Ashanti empire used to claim. Asantes state was not part of the Gold Coast colony. The British called the coastal areas "Gold Coast". The British Governor ruled Gold Coast and Asante king(specifically the Asante king uncle) ruled the Asante state since the British exiled the Asante king. The Asante king Prempeh later was returned and continued his rule. When Gold Coast gained it's independence by Kwame Nkrumah, Asante state joined newly formed Ghana as a state within a state in 1957. Let's not misinform the public with general misconception. There was no British governor for Asante state even after the Asante empire lost the last Anglo-Asante wars in 1900s after a 100 yrs when it first started

These items are brought to kumasi to fool we Ghanaians. Ask our politicians, where are their bank accounts open? Our politicians are more dangerous than our colonial masters

Ghana is welcome by the way, without the British preserving them they'd have been broken, smelted down for parts, like all of their other artefacts. Museums are British/European culture. Look at Egypt, they stole and destroyed many tombs until the British came and preserved them.
@JesusGiverofLife
@JesusGiverofLife Месяц назад
Never true! When they came it was already being preserved. Stop always talking down on anything African.
@raijinenel3116
@raijinenel3116 Месяц назад
@@JesusGiverofLife Preserved? How? Museums are barely a thing in Africa TODAY. African countries are renowned for destroying historical things for materials and such, reusing. It's not in their cultures to preserve anything. They barely have written records of their history until 200 years ago when Arabs and Europeans wrote about them.

You do realize that these are artifacts made with gold? They'd always maintain their value no matter where it is.
@raijinenel3116
@raijinenel3116 29 дней назад
@@vervetech9395 yes, but they get smelted down, and the artistic value is meaningless in Africa, Egypt also did the same, all the Mummy tombs raided, they smelt it down, and sell it.
