I'm not disregarding the family but believe it's best when we parents allow our sons to teach their wives how to do things for them without us mothers interfering. She's more than welcomed to ask for help if she needs to but let them try thwir lives together as a couple. My eldest son is 26 and would encourage him to live his life his way with his wife setting his own rules and ways of doing things I'd only interfere when asked to. This lifestyle is priceless. It reminds me so much of my childhood in Jamaica. I remember using the mortar and the stick to pound coco beans and coffee beans to make hot drink. In Jamaica, we have many different kinds of soup, but they are a little different from the African soup, but the concept is the same. When the Africans were brought to Jamaica, they didn't have time to practice their way of cooking; they were too busy laboring on the plantations, and many died from overworked, so they had to cook their food fast. Jamaica and Haiti had the worst form of slavery. It was so bad that women could hardly carry their pregnancies for nine months. The average like expectancy of new slave from Africa in Jamaica was 5 to 7 years, so They had to continue bringing new slaves from Africa to work on the plantations. Many Africans were tortured and sexual abused by their owners. I still carry a pain in my heart, and asked God give me the heart to forgive those who did those terrible things to my ancestors. You see those beautiful cities in Europe, but you don't know what they did to get them. Never envy people for what they have because you don't know how they get it. ES, if you don't like this comment, you can block it. I just feel like speaking what is in my heart.

Mr. GoBlack has been to many African countries. His wife and daughter came to Africa with him some times ago. I watch his Network Shows often. African cooking is Labour Intensive. African wife usually gets foods ready by the time her husband gets home. Usually, African women get helping hands from young blood family members that leave with them or near by. Please, you only get helping hands from blood family members to help you with housework no none relatives for the reasons known to African women. Anyway, by the time African husband eats, he is hungry with good appetite.

It was a beef stew with fufu in the middle. Well, apparently the restaurant owner was fully Americanized because that fufu taste just like the instant potato flakes they used to feed us in school cafeterias. It was not authentic, so disappointed! Well, since I was in New York...I found a market that sold yellow yams and a wooden mortar and tried to make it myself. It had a few lumps, but I loved it! Catching up on your videos...this by far has been the funniest, I'm still cracking up. The closest I've come to fufu is the garri you add water to, I would be so worn out if I had to pound yam. You go, Queen... I Love watching you two! 🤗

@Angel Mangena, get some green plantains & cassava from any afro-Caribbean shop. Peel skin off & cut separately into v v small pieces. In fact, you could slice to make it easier to blend. Add water, not so watery though. Ensure it blends v finely. Pour the thick paste like a "smoothie", into a cooking pot, put on the cooker, stirring with a wooden spatula or banku stick, ensuring it doesn't become lumpy, until the mixture binds really well & turns into the yellowish fufu colour & add a bit of hot water acc to your preferred consistency. Turn the thick fufu onto a clingfilm, mould it & turn it into a bowl. Now, you've got your fufu to enjoy with your light soup. It gets quicker & better with a v good blender & more practice . And you're certainly not eating semolina but real fufu!!🤣🤣🤞🏾

My black sister...you are really an African girl with style.... I love your character....you are so down to earth....and not pretending at all.... Some people come to Africa and they do all their acting making every one sense their presence...or make others feel backwards .... not knowing you have a choice to make the best of what you got...

The technique is to hug the bottom of the mortar with both feet and that keeps it planted on the ground.. You will get it with practice. And also dont hold the pestle too firm or you get blisters.. Proud of you guys.. 😀✌🏾
