“Gharsa” by Naseeb Sihag @naseeb_lll (Fashion Design, Batch 2020-2024) is a deeply personal collection that reflects the complex emotions tied to his rural home. His ambivalent connection to his hometown fueled the project-a place he often despised when he’s there, yet profoundly missed when away. The collection pays homage to the resilient and timeless elements that define his home, such as the warmth of the chulha, the sturdy tractor his father drove, the taste of water from a matka, and the ancient peepal tree that stands like a guardian over the land.
Naseeb translates these memories into garments using childlike crayon drawings, creating pieces that feel like sketches from a kid’s imagination. Each garment is imbued with the textures, colors, and forms that resonate with his memories, using unusual materials and details that remain true to their core essence. “”Gharsa”” is more than a collection; it’s a narrative woven from the threads of nostalgia, representing a heartfelt connection to the soil, the animals, and the objects that make his home an irreplaceable part of his identity.
