The Six Wives of Henry VIII: • The Six Wives of Henry...
The Tudors ruled over England from the unlikely battlefield victory of King Henry VII in 1485; through the 6 wives of heinous Henry VIII and his three children’s desperate fights over the throne; to the agonizing death of the magnificent Queen Elizabeth I in 1603. The family’s tragic interpersonal drama, and penchant for beheading anyone who got in their way have inspired a number of chilling ghost stories. So lock the door, turn down the lights, light a candle and pour yourself a bloody Mary. Together, lets step briefly off the relatively firm ground of historic record and into the misty realms of legend, hearsay and the supernatural as we recount the Ghastly Ghost Stories of the Terrible Tudors...

@@MrSniperfox29 true, but she knew she was putting herself in a rather precarious situation. she saw what he did to his wife of 24 years when she couldn’t produce a male, and Henry fell in love with another woman. She didn’t deserve what happened to her, and she couldn’t have known he would have her killed……. But she knew she wasn’t marrying Prince Charming… she knew it was quite possible that their relationship would turn toxic, and she’d be completely powerless to the whims of that wrathful pig. Anne Boleyn was rumored to have six fingers in her right hand. This is a fallacious rumor created decades after Anne's death and during Elizabeth I reign to slander the latter. It is possible that Anne had an extra nail on the pinky finger of her right hand that generated the propaganda against her If Anne had eleven fingers Henry VIII would never consider to marry a woman that could pass such a deformity down to their offspring

@@WooffzTheCoon well, sure...but lots of people died after Anne of Cleves, that didn't make them "luckier". Of all of Henry's wives, Katherine of Aragon had the most years of happiness. She was [supposedly] happily married (and queen) for 18 or so years (yes, then approx 4 years of fighting and 3.5 years of abusive neglect). Comparatively, Anne had 6 months of anxiety, 7 years of terror(wondering if Henry wanted her back or if he would change his mind about being friendly and kill her), 6 years of financial uncertainty under Edward VI, and finally 2 years of illness culminating in a [probably] painful death by cancer. I think I'd take K's life over Anne's.

Once when I was a toddler, my mum and a family friend took me to the Tower of London on a quiet day. I ran ahead into the White Tower and tripped over - as my mum ran over to pick me up, I remember that I looked up and saw two young boys looking down at me and talking - one was laughing, and one was crying and holding a candle. I turned around to ask my mum who the boys were, but since she couldn't see anybody, she just assumed it was two kids who must have run away before she had the chance to reprimand the one that was laughing at me. It wasn't until months later when she was showing me pictures from the day, and I'd learned to talk a little better, that I was able to describe them properly to her and I also remembered their names; Richard and Edward. My Mum obviously freaked OUT, because it wasn't like she'd told her 2 year old about 2 kids that probably got murdered in the building we were looking at, and she'd been with me at the time and knew full-well nobody else had mentioned it, so she contacted the Tower to ask about sightings. Sure enough, it's a common occurrence that kids get tripped up in the White Tower, and that a lot of them also report seeing the boys. Spooky.

I actually feel sorry for Mary. The terrible life she had, and now the terrible legacy she has. To be fair her council pressured her to burn them. She thought God was punishing her by giving her a phantom pregnancy and that it was a sign to do that. And then it being said she will reach out of a mirror and drag you is just scary.
@brooke6549
@brooke6549 2 года назад
Mary definitely had a difficult time with her health throughout life which later lead to her phantom, or even tumor, etc but she thought she was pregnant a couple times. But over and over, that wasn’t the case. Marrying Philip was such a mistake because of the way he treated Mary as well. The only thing I don’t feel bad for Mary is about her burning so many people alive on the stake. Mainly most of them because of their faith. She was a hard time Christian which really made it an uneasy relationship with her younger half brother Edward when he was on the throne. For her defense?! Almost every person who sat on a throne wasn’t without any type of bloodshed. Still wasn’t right, but maybe another thing could’ve been Mary council pressuring her to make that decision.

she got a cocktail named after her (my favorite cocktail), an internationally known urban legend/children's game... and multiple representations in modern media, which have encouraged millions of people to independently educate themselves about her life and times. her life sucked (as did most people's lives at that time), but i could imagine, if her ghost is looking down on us, she would be pleased to know that, 500 years later, her legacy has endured......... her represtentation in the film elizabeth might be quite offensive to her, but who doesnt want to be memorialized by having a popular cocktail named after them?...... who wouldnt want to be the boogie man in a children's game/urban legend of the future?

irony being her brother killed far more catholics and her father would use a whim of his decision of faith to execute people on whim if it offended his beliefs or they just slightly pissed him off. its horrible 😞 also her father killed ironically more protestants alone in his first 2 decades of reign than Mary did aby one no matter faith yet she's portrayed as being evil.

@@vapidrabbit198 Actually as I think Lindsay states, the children's game isn't about Mary Tudor (the name Mary Worth was sometimes swapped in) and the drink's connection to her is also tenuous. She became an outstanding ruler. I think many would say she was far better than her father. He didn’t have to kill Anne if anything he could have just divorced her. I think the teenage girl seen at Ludlow castle, is not Catherine of Aragon it is more likely to be her daughter Mary.. Mary spent many years there and they were probably some of her happiest years, because when she returned to London she found her life had been turned upside down and inside out. Elizabeth 1st ghost is also alledgely been seen wandering back and forth across the windows of the Gate house of Richmond Palace. The Gate house is all that is left of the once sprawling palace, and it's from this Gate house that Elizabeth's ring was thrown to a messenger charged with taking the ring to Scotland to inform James V1 in Scotland that Elizabeth 1st was dead and that he was now King of England too. I believe this ring had to be sawn from Elizabeth's finger when she died. The ring was such a tight fit that the skin had grown around it, Elizabeth had married England after all.

It was interesting: Ciel (who is arguably the same age as the king if we disregard dearh years) played chess with him in hopes of winning custody of the tower, but lost because spooky ghost manipulation by the king. Ciel had to let his bulter serve the princes while trying to find a way to put them to rest. In that show, the skeletons that was thought to belong to the boys weren't theirs, as they were killed by a knight in full armor and were tossed into a river where they were eaten away by fishes (hence why there's no remains left of them). Unfortunately I think she probably won't do this since a lot of the 'origins' people claim for these songs lack proof or are faked (one common myth is that Ring around the Rosie is about the plague, for example, despite the modern lyrics not matching the original song and the plague interpretation only showing up after WW2). Does anyone just wish they could apologize to Anne B for the huge crime that was done to her.

The toddler could be Princess Elizabeth, daughter of Elizabeth of York and sister of Henry VIII. She was a toddler when she died. The other alleged video doesn’t look much like Henry VIII so I don’t know how people think it’s him. I think it could be his son or his father.

I’ve always had a love of ghost stories. I had a book when I was little that had slew of Tower of London ghost stories. It was what created my fascination first of Anne Boleyn and now of all the Tudors. I think that ghosts are basically imprints of energy. That’s why the same ghost can be seen at different locations like Anne Boleyn. She probably left imprints of energy where she had extreme emotions. Just my opinion

I love how she said Anne murder because she really was.

Thomas Boleyn was dealt a harsh hand by the King and history, too. He died broken hearted only 3 years after his children were executed.

I've felt that same feeling during my visit there and I've seen an apparition of a headless woman. I can't tell if it's Katherine or Anne.

Without our historical superstitions, much of the truth is lost. It is like a suided tour into history. Thanks so much, Ms Linsay Holiday.
