Post Kamigawa and Dominaria, there's enough cheap sagas that do what your sorceries do AND you can sac them as their final trigger is on the stack (so get ghens ability and the final saga trigger still resolves). He's a saga champ
I really liked your build for Ghen. He's one of the more interesting Mardu commanders to be released in a long time. One idea I had was maybe using something like magewright's stone or thousand-year elixir to untap Ghen so you can abuse his mechanic even more. I like decks like this that turn weird, high costed cards (enchantments in this case) that previously seemed unplayable into a viable win-con.
Worship wins games with Ghen. You also don't want to discard at random because you need to hang onto the cheap Enchantments so you can switch them with expensive targets in the graveyard. Wheel effects work great for this 😀
Hey there, very nice deck tech. Not to be a nitpicker, but you showed the wrong Athreos :(. Other then that, plz keep up the awesome video's. Greetings and Merry Chrismas from the Netherlands
I built a gods Ghen and feels really nice even though it's not that useful to have gods in it lol. Your build is really cool, but I'd say Demonic Pact is a trap if you don't have a secondary way to get rid of it or its trigger, you'd have to be all the time taking care of your commander, or have it untapped ready to sacrifice the pact in response to something bad happening to Ghen if you don't have ways to untap it. You can potentially lose valuable turns of using Ghen.
Anje Falkenrath could actually go pretty good in the looting section of this deck, even without any Madness cards. She's on color and has haste for her ability (and she's also actually pretty cheap, under $1). Not sure what I'd take out for it though, probably one of the one shot sorceries, I think Burning Inquiry would be my first choice.
Two enchantments I want to include in my Ghen deck are Volrath's Dungeon and Lethal Vapors. Just imagine the opponent's reaction to sacking and reanimating Lethal Vapors in response to them skipping a turn!
You actually really want a way to destroy Captive Audience once it’s used up or if the controller is about to lose. Because it etb’s under their control not yours then shifting or something, if the opponent still controls it when they lose then it’s exiled. It’s a weird quirk with the rules of multiplayer formats.
I read your comment wrong at first and wrote a whole post correcting you before realizing you were completely right. They actually changed the oracle text on Xantcha because of this card (she now works the same way as this card). Since I looked it up I'll post the relevant ruling from Gatherer: "In a multiplayer game, if Captive Audience’s owner leaves the game, Captive Audience leaves the game with them. If Captive Audience’s controller leaves the game, Captive Audience is exiled (assuming that player wasn’t also Captive Audience’s owner)."
Was looking for it! Although I feel like this deck relies too much on gaining control of other's creatures and not having a real solid winning condition. Opalescence would be a real nice addition to this deck! Really like the sinergies
You're playing Ajani's Chosen but not Archon of Sun's Grace? You said yourself the Aura clause doesn't matter in this deck, so Archon is basically the same thing but it flies and makes fliers.
This is a common misconception! This kind of ability, unless specified otherwise, does not take effect if it is not on the battlefield. This makes sense, cause the only way you could sacrifice it is if it were on the battlefield anyways. - Peter
@@CommandValley Can treacherous blessing still be used to swap in an enchantment from the graveyard by Ghen, or does it just fizzle cuz treacherous blessing gets sacked as soon as Ghen targets it?
@@stalkerstomper3304 Good question. The part of Ghen's ability that would be sacrificing Treacherous Blessing is actually part of the cost to activate it; therefore, it doesn't actually target it. Sacrificing can target a permanent if it specifically says "sacrifice target [permanent or permanent type]". -Kaleb
