The city has a population of 265,000. The metropolitan area has a population of 550,000. It has a port and a University. Ghent is the second largest municipality of Belgium. Some highlights of Ghent are the Graslei, the Gravensteen Castle, the Vrijdagmarkt, the Graslei and the Ghent Tower Row (St. Nicholas Church, Belfry, St. Bavo’s Cathedral).
