This is a fantastic looking automated doorknob. I love that it uses your fingerprint and also an app for remote access. I want one. Very good review Dan.
That's a great idea for added security especially for doors on the outside of your home. The fingerprint security unlock feature is a brilliant idea as well as having that C-type USB as a power back up when the AAA batteries go flat. Good review Dan 👍
Looks like a decent product and easy enough to install I'm a double glazing installer by trade and here in the UK we don't have anything that easy to work with ! There is a few different types but some are really bulky 😞
Yeah I was surprised with how easy this one was to install and setup. It is a bit bulky but not as bad as others I’ve seen. Thanks for stopping by brother 👍💯💥
Question.. is there some sort of privacy mode that can be enabled so that no one with current added fingerprints can unlock it? I have a fingerprint door lock too from another company and a few of my family members have their fingerprints added as well to get in my room in case of anything.. there’s times they abuse that access to bug me. Unfortunately with my current lock I would have to delete their fingerprints and re-input them each time to have my privacy. I would love to enable something to pause their access. I hope my explanation helped understand what I’m asking.
does it hold up? i just got it on Amazon and have read some reviews that it will just randomly stop reading fingerprints. Also, how long before it needs recharging or battery replacement?
ONE YEAR LIFE SPAN MAX: according to the manual, the rechargable battery cannot be replaced, and the battery life is 8-12 months! So expect a year lifespan and then have to replace the unit! see pages 26-27 of the manual. The other problem I had was working temperature 23F to 131F....it might not work for most of the winter here in Montana where it is colder than 23F.
@@Van_City Not the latest version on Amazon...only USB C recharable batteries with a lifespan of 8-12 months! I am looking for a AAA battery version but so far can not find any on Amazon.
@@Van_City That is the model I purchased from Amazon but it only had a USB rechargable battery...I WISH it had AAA battery compartment but it did not so I returned it.
Just got the 2nd version with numbers it came with the gateway device but doesn’t seem to work remotely. Works fine when I’m next to it but as soon as I leave the house it says it’s offline. Am I missing a step?
What if you purchase a home with one of these locks? How do you prevent the previous homeowners from using their fingerprint and entering your home? Are you able to delete their fingerprints by using the app?
@@TJ-22 I’m not 100% sure. I suspect that the person who set it up (previous owner) is probably the main user and would still have access to unlock it.
Does your lock have a touchscreen code to enter because this one’s fingerprint only? Alternatively, you can also use a key with the lock that I reviewed here.
Don’t put any temporary codes in the app with a long expiration as a test. The option to see them says there are none, and the option to clear them doesn’t work, as the code is still listed as “already used” when you try to apply it to a user. There also is no reset to default option in the app. This thing is trash.
