I didn't know there was a tv show from the 60's About my favorite movie. I found this quite by accident. This song and video moved me to tears. Good job on this video.

I grew up watching the Captain and Mrs. Muir. What wonderful memories of a time where family and relationships were real. This show makes me wish we could go back in time. It says so much about how strong and true a love between two people can be. There is nothing like leaving a bit of mystery and suspense to keep a romance going. Todays generation needs to learn that. It's sad to see how people in this era use the word 'love' so callously making it trivial, completely without meaning. They seem to think that if you aren't in bed with the first person you date, it isn't love! How wrong. How very, very wrong. True love isn't just physical, it is a deep affection, unconditional respect, lasting loyalty, sweet companionship, and above all patience, and acceptance of each other, through the good and the bad. We as a society have lost that. My wish for all is to be able to come back home to where the heart is. We could all learn from the Captain.

This actually was the TV show (in the 60's) that was based on the Rex Harrison movie. And that movie was based on the 1945 novel by R.A. Dick. I love both the tv show and the movie.

@DobbyJunior - I never really thought of Richard but now that you mentioned it, he would be good. I was also thinking of Iain Glen, who plays Ser Jorah Mormont in Game of Thrones. He's got such a gorgeous voice and he's super handsome and could definitely pull off being a sea captain. Mrs Muir is a toughie though - can't really think of anyone....yet! It's fun to try to figure out who you would cast, but my heart still belongs to Edward Mulhare and Hope Lange in the show. Thanks for commenting!

If this show ever got remade as a film. I think Hobbit actor Richard Armitage could play the ghost and a really good actress (don't know who) to play Mrs. Muir. :)

This is a wonderful show. I'ev throughly enjoyed it and have watched all, over and over again. Am anxciously waiting to see some new ones??
