I saw him last night in Cincinnati, some larger guys in the back started crowd surfing and the smaller folks in the front (including myself) kept getting crushed. It honestly made it really hard to enjoy the concert because we were all more worried about the people behind us then the concert. When the team noticed people were getting hurt (and after some huge guy tried and got fully dropped because we just didn’t have the density or strength to keep him up) Papa stepped in and told them to stop. Really loved that the team noticed and were willing to take the time to put a stop to it so we could enjoy the concert🥺
@@kevineldracher9297 It was "a saying" since the band/product/company is still "Ghost." I was commenting on the OP's sentence, "...how far they've come..." since he was probably including the present musicians and not just Tobias. I was merely reminding that Ghost paved their way from 2010-mid 2016 and those members, except Tobias, are all gone. By the time 2017 rolled around, Ghost as a product, was already solidified.
Director Kid Being a fan is determined by if a person enjoys a specific artist/band. Sure he can like Ghosts music but he just also happens to be an asshole
I'm a new fan, I met the band with Papa Copia in front of Ghost but Terzo is my favorite papa. Tobias is a kind, polite and correct man, I like him very much. Thxs for the video 🤟🏼🎸🎵
It is amazing how Papa could continue to perform while he was dealing with that situation and trying to protect his fans. I wonder why the venue’s security people didn’t help?
Should of kicked his ass out. You can see Papa 3 talking to another ghoul and about 5:00 he talks about giving the guy permission to stomp is head if he keeps it up.
I'm not sure WHY Papa had to flip off that fan, but, I know it must have been a good reason. THIS lineup of Papa 3 and these specific ghouls, just is my favorite. The NEW Ghouls are good, I mean REALLY GOOD, but, sometimes in a band, or "in a group of certain musicians who've made an albumn", like in Ghost, I say that because Ghost is NOT a BAND technically. IF anybody does NOT know why, if you ask I'll tell you. BUT, I just assume that EVERYBODY knows why Ghost is NOT a band. ANYWAY, OLD Ghost is my fave Ghost, Omega had been MY FAVORITE Ghoul. SO FULL of charisma and he had managed to attract SO MANY female fans while wearing a mask at all performances. He still has been using his talent to make music in his band MCC and had been a guest vocalist for a band called "Novarupta", his vocals on the song "Triest" are just hauntingly beautiful. And, his band MCC has just released a new albumn last month. If I had enough extra money, I'd have all of the last few years worth of MCC;s albumns, for now, I'll just have to come here to RU-vid and listen to the songs. Anyway, this video is about back when Ghost had it's original members in tact, the GOOD OLD DAYS in MY opinion. BUT, new GHost is still good. I just HATE to see an old version of a band go away, especially when it had been so damn GREAT.
Every metal show I go to there is some a-hole ruining the show for everyone near them. Just saw three fights last night at an At the Gates show. Embarrassing.
I think it's amazing that on top of flipping the guy off and telling him multiple times to GTFO he also keeps singing. Simultaneously tells the guy that he's not worth his time and protects his fans.
With the concept they got they can do some really incredible things. I can't wait for their budget just to get bigger by the years so they can make even more bombastic shows
Damn, from my knowledge, to piss tobias off is hard, so the guy must have been a hell of a dick. good move on you papa. I also love how he gestured for him to leave then the ghouls stood by him. They're awesome people, but if you're a dick to them , they won't be nice to you, which is understandable.
Hey I’m sorry if this is a late response to this but I’m a new fan and saw this video. I did a bit of digging for it and apparently, the dick who was doing that was actually pushing/ harassing a disabled fan
@@hunglejewel I know. Thankfully, concert security and concerts in general have gotten a lot safer over time. Especially considering more infamous incidents that have happened in recent time with a prime example being at what happened in that one concert that resulted in avoidable passings. But the unfortunate part about this is that this is still an ongoing issue at concerts and even though security has gotten better, people still find ways to be assholes I’m afraid.
I keep coming back and watching this video just because I adore it so much. I love Tobias so much for being a good guy and standing up for his real fans and I love Papa III as a disapproving dad! This video really makes me feel like I'm there.
Papa 3 being a class act to his fans and putting that classless jackass in his place. Just got into Ghost and am surprised how awesome their music and show is. Its humbling they went from small venues like at the Ogden in Denver to music festivals and making it in Tobias's home town to now selling out huge arena's and making the show better every year.
and this is why I don´t do the pit, even though I want to. If you´re in the back and against the fence, there´s no Papa to protect you. You´ll get crushed.
I started listening to ghost in the Prequelle era, since last December and I'm crazy about them. I find it crazy that even during the Papa III era they played in much smaller venues than the ones they do now. They really have come a long way. Although I enjoy these older videos too because there's a special connection with the band when they play in smaller places, like their recent concert in Australia. I hope I get to see them one day, I missed their concert here in Florida and they didn't include us again this year :(
Same here. I was just getting lost on yt and ended up watching Cirise. Had no idea who he was, that there was a Grammy win. I’m totally in love with him, the Ghouls and Ghoulettes, their music, the theater, his humanity the way he connects with the audience. They will be coming to our state in October but it’s a 4 hour trip each way. Cannot get to see them :( as I’m disabled and don’t drive. Maybe some day? I might just be one of their oldest fans!
That's amazing. I'm in the exact same boat as you! I remember seeing a short clip for the Rats video and only thinking the lead singer of this band looked a little freaky. After seeing Caridnal Copia dance and sway on the Rats video, I was sold. Everything from Opus to Prequelle is almost constantly playing now. I am head over heels for Ghost and Tobias's penchant for pageantry, lore building, and humor has made me a firm follower in Ghosts bewitchingly wonderful congregation.
He was just being an overall ass. Papa kept telling him to stop and he just got worse. What’s worse is we saw them in ABQ the night before and they played far longer and even did a few acoustic versions. Denver missed out because of this moron.
Just found this, I'm so glad you posted this! My husband was the guy in the wheelchair. There was a group of drunken a-holes aggressively moshing and pushing, and my husband was getting crushed against the railing. This continued for several songs. The ghouls could see what was happening and had a little conference between songs. Papa told them if they didn't knock it off he would give security carte blanche to kick their ass. It chilled out after that lol. We personally thanked them after the show. Made us lifelong fans. Really nice guys.
I might could have had he been facing in the right direction, would have been impossible to have read the lips of the ghoul lol. You know this video speaks volumes to me. Because firstly, how much of a dick was the guy in the audience that it pissed Tobias off? Secondly, he's from a Scandinavian country, and with the exception of a few, most people are well mannered, and jovial most of the time, so it really takes a lot to piss someone off (at least from what I know). This may be a generalization, but I don't feel I'm too far off base. Hopefully, the band realizes it's just one person out of how many hundreds who actually came to have a good time. Where were the security...didn't really see any at the front of the stage like you'd normally expect? Though, to be honest most of them could probably hold their own.
4:20 In case you want to follow along! (This is what I'm thinking): [Papa]: What should we do about the guy (who's pushing and shoving people)? I had to get on him a couple of times. [Ghoul]: Which guy are you talking about? *Looks off into the crowd.* *Papa looks at him and then signals his head to the guy whom he flipped off.* *The Ghoul nods and imitates him stomping on his head with a foot.*
C Huston you know, in the prequelle album, tobias did mention martin’s name in it. So they could make amends. But for right now, it’s best that neither of them talk about what happened due to it being personal. Even martin said in an interview for MCC that he doesnt wanna talk about it. But he wasn’t a dick about the whole moment. He said it “felt like a bad divorce. It’s too personal”
Hungle jewl if he didn’t stop they’d cut short but they were at monstrance clock anyway so the general crowed wouldn’t have missed much other than a great ending.
Back when I used to love this band and all Tobias needed was his bandmates now he's got eight or nine different people on stage with him.... I guess it's whatever the most people but I guess I'm just a purest
what is so clear to me, is that the new line up is the weakest ever...even if there are 7 ghouls.. no interplay, no musicality, no mystery, no purpose...MELIORA AND EVEN POPESTAR tour line ups, were special..
I disagree. Been going to their shows since Papa 2. The newest lineup as of Nov 2018 is by far the best they've ever sounded. Earlier in the year they were shaky at times, but they've rehearsed like crazy and they are super tight with tons of varied material. The sound is big, bold, and musical.
