great video! I dont think I will solo Plat7 anytime, so with that in mind, would you consider this Build a Do-it-all kind build? meaning, If I just wanna do group activities with others, do I need to switch out anything for different game mode? thank you!
For Platinum 7, I don't recommend Samurai because the modifiers hurt melee and team mates due to shared wounds, and aggressive/empowered foes. Melee killing animations also leave the Samurai vulnerable to orbs and hwachas. I came up with this build for the purpose of soloing platinum 7 but I don't normally use this build. With Samurai, I mainly use melee and not bombs/ultimate spamming/ranged attacks in nightmare, regular platinum, and platinum 6 or lower for survival matches. I mainly play the game the way I enjoy it, which is melee combat. There are better builds than this if you are doing nightmare survival speedruns, story speedruns, platinum 7 in group settings, and rivals. For example, instead of using Defender or +25 health on Samurai technique, I would use Deep strikes or +25 melee damage in team settings. I could write a novel lol, but to summarize, I only came up with this build to solo Platinum 7 and it suited my playstyle just for this mode, outside of that, I never use it. I think I want to mix in Forbidden Medicine in my Samurai build since I'm not that good and I tend to take damage, so every bit of healing works well for me, so maybe Forbidden Medicine + Spirit Pull as two mandatory skill and gear. would that be a endgame farming build? I dont think I will ever try Plat7 solo, IF anything down the road, I will try to get Hidden Heart, I heard that's like the toughest challenge lol
@@zacharyxu5750 This mode was made without much thought put to it by Sucker Punch. They really left the Samurai in the cold because with all the modifiers activated, they are basically saying, don't use melee and focus on using ranged attacks and spamming ultimate but by nature, Samurai is the most melee heavy character. I would recommend a ranged focused/ultimate spamming build if you use a Samurai in a platinum 7 setting. Basically play Samurai like Ronin 2.0 by using smoke bomb for the purpose of hiding (which is stupid and uncharacteristic for the Samurai in my opinion), crowd control, and spam bombs to build your ultimate and repeat. Sword fighting with platinum 7 activated is just a no no as it leads to hurting the team (which is another really stupid thing in my opinion). I would say using bombs along with Spirit Pull is relatively safe. Ranged attacks rule the game so you can use those 2 things to farm items. If you have a solid team, Trials of Iyo is a good mode to farm items.
@@tonytran9463 Hmmm. I use smoke on my Samurai as I love using my longbow to build up my ULT under pressure lol. May go back to my Caltrops for that boost to my Staggered Damage tho.
I use multiple combos: triangle, triangle, triangle for faster stagger and melee resolve building; square, triangle, square, triangle and repeat or square, square, triangle and repeat for higher dps; and recently I have been implementing square, triangle, triangle (hold and release) as this might hold the highest damage output. Also, try to kill enemies with the first or second triangle attack from Stone Stance as there is no killing animation so you can evade or roll out of incoming danger. Just be mindful your character will pause for a slight moment after killing an enemy with the first or second triangle attack. You can even do something like square, triangle, triangle and repeat or triangle, triangle, square but the idea is to kill enemies with the first two triangle attacks from Stone Stance to avoid killing animations that leave you open to attacks, orbs, hwachas, or environmental hazards.
Could you help me with a build? I see the community is torn between mass masamune edge or water stance/water master with the 25% increase melee damage. I really don’t know what to do for my ghost weapons either lol. I managed to get forbidden medicine but that’s about my only guaranteed in this build.. any tips ?
Are you playing for fun or you want an optimal build for survival? I have the build posted up in description which is the same one used in this video for you to see. If you are doing a spawn trap killing Samurai, I would change the properties of Forbidden Medicine to status effect damage and blast radius to get them as high as you can and change the perks to Samurai unlock and black powder bomb. Also, for spawn trap killing, use smoke bomb instead of caltrops so when the enemies spawn in front of you, drop a smoke bomb to prevent them from running pass you. For ghost weapon #1, you can acquire sticky bomb and get the properties cooldown reduction on kill and blast radius, then acquire fired up and increased radius for perks. Keep in mind this is for enemies without immunity. Masamune's Edge would not be an optimal build for killing on Samurai. It is more melee/skill based rather than optimizing killing because ranged/ghost weapons dominiate the majority of the game so you will be losing out on kills to Hunters, bombers, toxic vanish Assassins if you commit to melee. However, I don't really play strong builds that involve range spamming such as Hunter with SSB or bombing mindlessly because melee is more fun for me and it requires much more skill and fight IQ. If you want a Masamune's Edge build for Samurai, I can make a video and demonstrate to you what it's like as well as posting up the build.
@@tonytran9463 man that would be awesome, I decided to revert back to my ronin until I figure things out that way I’m not wasting resources or half way builds. I just changed demon to smoke bomb with munitions and it seems as though I never run out of concussion bombs. I like the melee aspect of it the game as well and being able to keep myself alive and my team is why I chose ronin in the first place! I just enjoy supporting others
But I would to see a build like that to get my some ideas going, I was even thinking of a stone striker type build as well idk how that would work though

I would recommend the extra resolve and Hachiman's Frenzy to optimize the Samurai. There is not necessarily a right or wrong build, play it the way you want and enjoy the game, but the most powerful Samurai build will focus on having the extra resolve and extra Hachiman's strike as well as being a bomb spamming build. Though, I hate this playstyle and it isn't very Samurai like, the bombing/ult spamming Samurai is the strongest build for Samurai.
Lol, I can't do that. I have a tough map in mind though, which I think I can solo in platinum 7 but I am giving Ghost a break now due to Gotham Knights and God of War releasing soon!
