I've been thinking of the Batman song every time I walk up to a Mongol wearing my black armor and strike from the shadows and calmly strike them down one by one before facing multiple men down by myself, deflecting blows and taking them down until they run away in fear hehe. So this fits perfectly!😂

Having just seen the Batman, it's interesting how you've ended up aping one of the film's main messages. As per the trailer lyrics, over the course of the Movie Bruce is forced to realise that his quest for Vengeance is 'in the way' of him becoming the hero that enforces justice and protects the people that the city needs, and he needs to move past that in order to save his city from it's ongoing corruption and decay, especially with the mistakes he's made and the criticism he's been getting for his 'selfish' vigilantism to satisfy his deep-seated rage issues over his family's death. Similarly, Jin is forced to recognise that his people's adherence to honour is 'in the way' of them being able to effectively fight off the mongol invasion and that it's necessary for him to break his people's strict honour codes despite the criticism and animosity he receives for it in order to protect the lives of the people of Tsushima and help save the island from the ongoing mongol invasion by himself. Both men devoted themselves to lives spent learning how to live and fight for a singular concept they hold above all others, becoming incredibly badass and versatile fighters as they perfect themselves mentally and physically through their rigid adherence to their ideals. However, an ongoing and escalating crisis eventually forces both men to re-examine their choices and come to a personal realisation about themselves, that they need to sacrifice these ideals to better protect the lives around them, which are more important to them personally than their own, that they need to be willing to become more than mere men, but living symbols of inspiration necessary to uplift the spirits of those around them and inspire hope in those they protect, and fear in those they oppose. They embrace the darkness and the roles required for the sake of others, so that the burden alone falls on them, but ultimately and always, their main goal remains the same as the ones they held as children: to use their gifts and talents for the sake of others too weak to defend themselves against the cruelties of the world they've witnessed. So yes, Jin's Ghost persona really is a more grounded Japanese Batman.

just goes to show just how much an edits pacing is decided by the music choice and the music affects how it lands because you could match this to any dark game trailer and get some solid results. so editors learn the music choice and study it plan around it.
