As much as I loved Jin, SP had pretty much told his story. Idk how much more they could use Jin without intruding too much into Japanese history (on account of him being wanted by the Shogunate). And while the choice of actress was pretty horrible, as long as she stays professional in her acting and SP tells a good story like GoT, the game could be good.

In a game with no magic, a woman should behave same as real ones, with spears or bows, not swords. It'd be offensive to real women warriors to claim they never had to work around being weaker and could've just pick a sword and be an equal. The moment she makes a parry or frees herself from a grapple, is the moment we'll know the game is delusional. A game may be fantasy, but if isn't magical nor syfy, then it is a delusion.
My biggest problem here, yeah, is the idea that if this is supposed to be a real historical setting, she shouldn't be capable of being a strong samurai warrior who can easily defeat men in combat. You cannot claim to be a real historical setting and pull this kind of thing. If you go all in on fantasy, then that's a different story. I have no problem with doing this in fantasy settings as long as the logic makes sense. However, if its a more "grounded" fantasy, then you've got a serious problem. I don't care if the strongest women throughout history are capable of defeating some men. Of course they would be, but that's missing the point. When out on the road fighting other warriors, you're not just going to be fighting weaker men, you're also going to come out against really strong men who even the strongest woman would have NO HOPE of defeating. Maybe this game won't do that and will actually play it off more realistically (unlikely), but the fact that they picked this actress to play her is troubling.
