Coming in mostly blind and running on instruments and experience. She was only visible for a few minutes before she disappeared again, the John G Munson arrived on 12/23/23 in dense fog. It’s an eerie feeling, knowing something that size is out there and coming at you, but you can’t see it! She loaded iron ore pellets and departed the next day, her last cargo run of the season to Duluth, but she would arrive again a couple weeks later for winter layup. This isn’t the foggiest I’ve ever seen it, but it was the thickest of the season, and at 2pm (usually the clearest time of day) which made it a bit strange!
