With the Coral Princess in almost total shutdown, I bring you along on my nightly rounds to give you a behind the scenes look at this ghostly cruise ship. Seen like never before.

Was a Production crew member on the Coral back in 2003-2004. I can confirm that even when the ship was 16 years newer, the Universe Lounge was always creepy at night. When we would shut it down after the last show, we all got out of there as soon as we could. Loving these videos.

I love walking around in the early morning hours enjoying the quiet, but also see the odd person here and there. However, this video brought tears to my eyes, because I know the Coral is empty of her heart, the people who make her hum. Thank you for the tour. Hope you are able to go home soon🥰

It’s easy to see from this that as nice as this ship is decked out it’s nothing without humans around to make it a living space and enjoyable. Without other people around to enjoy it all with you it just becomes empty space. A void. Dead space. We don’t realize how interactive we are as humans. Like bees in a beehive we all need each other. We’re all family wether we like to admit it or not. Thank you for the tour.

Thank Alfie, I was part of the team that built the ship in St Nazaire and did all the sea trials, inaugural sail and first season. Great to see it has held up over the past years. I will never forget the first crossing of the Atlantic. It was also without passengers. Great memories. Thank you

Thanks so much for the tour. The Coral Princess is my favorite ship in the fleet mainly due to The Sanctuary that is located aft, and have sailed on her many many times. It was nice to see her again even if it was empty. Hope things get sorted out soon for the crew and company. I was on the Grand Princess this year during the early Covid-19 mess in Feb/March and had to endure quarantine first in our cabin and then at the military base, so I appreciate all that you are doing now. Safe journey home.

It was good to see the Coral Princess again; not so good under these circumstances. I would however like to recognize the crew for all their hard work and dedication to cruising. It is the excellent crew members that makes cruising what it is today as well as the beautiful ships sailing under the Princess Flag. My hat is off to the crew members still aboard, all the hard work you do for us, with the hope that I will soon be able to join you on board as family again.

We were on board the Coral Princess about this time last year on the Panama Canal cruise and loved it. Certainly looks different alone in the dark from the joyous fun life we had aboard her last year. We are so glad we did that "bucket list" cruise last year and loved everyone and everything aboard the Coral.

Thank you so much for this tour. I'm so, so sad for all of you on board this beautiful ship. My hubby and I have sailed on her 5 times in the past and we have 3 Alaska cruises in the queue on her in 2021. I very much enjoyed your tour and recognized every space; of course things are looking way different now-a-days and yes are a wee bit creepy. ;) I'm so happy to hear that y'all are in port safe and sound and that they are working with you to get you all repatriated to your home countries. My heart has gone out to you all! (My hubby and I were on the Ruby in Australia/NZ in February and then on the Emerald doing an Ocean to Ocean Panama Canal disembarking in Ft. Lauderdale on March 15th (that was a harrowing cruise). ANYway, take good care of yourself and again, thank you so very much!

Hi, such a sad day when all the cruise ships have ceased cruising for now. Great tour of the Coral Princess 'Ghost Ship'. It brings back a number of great memories for me as I used to be on the P & O ship 'SS Canberra' back in the early sixties. I was a chef on board responsible for the fish department. Sailed on her doing several 'round the world cruises'. Even though its a long time ago I look at your videos and hanker back to those 'good ole days' Best of luck for your future, you've done the ship and the company proud!!

You gave us the ocean going rendition of The Shining! At each door I was anticipating an axe wielding psycho, "Here's Johnny!" We saw some empty areas -- not as spooky -- on the Grand Princess before her 2011 "Handle," removal. Once the gates were opened at a popular port the ship was empty and quiet, it gave us time to see almost what you're experiencing on the Coral Princess. Well, I know what movie to watch... Ghost Ship!

that we got married on the Sky Princess by Captain Michele Tuvo back in December 2019. The entire week was fantastic, the new ship was spectacular, and the visit to the bridge of the ship after our wedding while at sea was fantastic. Every crew member and especially our Photographer and Suite Steward did an incredible job. Our hearts go out to all of the Crew members and employees of the CCL family during this idle time. As Captain Tuvo would say " Bye, Bye"

Alfie, thanks for the tour, I really enjoyed it. It must be so strange to be on a ship this long without any passengers. Please enjoy the little break even though you are still working. I'd love to see another video like this but of the crew only areas. A behind the scenes tour without the thousands of workers would be great. I did a Baltic cruise with an overnight is St. Petersburg on Star Princess years ago and loved it. We haven't cruised on Princess since then, however your videos are making me want to try another Princess cruise as soon as this CV nonsense is over. Please keep making more of these videos, they are Great! Cheers, From Atlanta, GA

Hi Alfie, The reason you are finding the port so easy to work with is that just before you arrived, there was an article in the local paper where the port authority said they had worked with the government to develop a plan to market themselves to cruise lines as a place to layup ships as a replacement to the revenue they were losing from normal cruise activity at the port. They were kind of patting themselves on the back for getting a customer so quickly and implied they are looking for other ships. If permitted I'd like to see video of the other technical areas of the ship you pass through on your rounds. Thanks for the video!

So sad to see my home for 32 days in March-April so empty now, although happy to see the long lines at Guest Services has finally disappeared. :) I followed your every move, having been on the Coral a few times - I will be back next March, trying the same South American cruise again! Princess and the crew members during our "lost at sea" days when ports closed instead of letting us in as promised, made the best of the journey that they could. Passengers were worried, filled with questions, some angry because they couldn't get off, yet the crew members made all the difference -- so many smiles as they themselves wondered about the future. Thank you for taking us on the tour, Alfie. Thank you for being our ears and eyes. If seafaring ever becomes tiresome to you, I'd say you have a career in media! We were on this ship October 2014 and it was a great experience. Many of the ships have basically the same layout and seeing it deserted was very spooky--I can imagine being at the various venues but filled with passengers and crew. Great video--hope to see more like it.
