Andrew Hassell it sure was! I saw them in Noblesville, IN. Looking back I feel bad that I did not knowing any of their songs, they are an incredibly talented group
Their live sound is BETTER than the Album versions, which is extremely rare. The thicker accent he adds more recently to his voice really makes their music appealing and unique. But I have seen them live, and their sound is amazing for a live band. They're probably the clearest sounding band that I've ever seen live, and I've seen a ton of them.
ShutInBoy hope darker sounding too. The theme of Prequelle is very dark being about the Black Death, but just too poppy for my hoping (Faith and Witch Image made up for it)

I'm not entirely sure what you are trying to say, but if you are implying that that means they are two different people, you would be completely wrong. The person portraying the character has and will remain the same (that's the plan anyway), and the fictitious character of Papa Emeritus will change.
I can't tell you how stoked I am your videos of this exist. By the time I found Ghost it was the Meloria album and I knew I'd likely never get to see their early stuff live. I was fortunate to catch Ghost A.D. in Fullerton cover Death Knell and I almost cried hearing the full power in person, it was so good.
Well, actually this is Papa II, Papa I did both these songs on their first CD. Papa I had a bit higher voice. Papa II does a good job with the older songs though, but I think he's an older gentleman and has a bit lower voice.
Me too trying to find one. I think they use the RD Standard re-issues. The original artists had a floral inlay on the headstock and was full-scale. The re-issues from 2010 play more like a les paul with the shorter scale. WANT WANT!!

A Ghoul was interviewed and said there would be another Papa for their next album and I was like, damn, that's cold lol. But I understand it's like a new Pope more or less. There have been shit tons of Popes but there's ALWAYS a Pope. Papas for different eras/albums I guess, pretty cool, plus the new outfit is way better.

I noticed their first album was pre antichrist and the last one was ushering in the arrival of the antichrist so different timelines different popes?? gudalpesanz Papa uses a synthesizer in his mic, as well as a backing track. The synthesizer amplifies his voice and make it sound like he's singing in a place with reverberating acoustics like a cathedral or something like it. Since the band mocks religion by personifying a negative version of it and is extremely intricate with their on-stage performance, a "cathedral sound" is what they were going for, for LIVE performances. Some people would call it "cheap", but to be completely honest, Ghost has the cleanest and sharpest LIVE sound that I've ever heard out of the many bands that I've seen LIVE. I actually wish that more bands would do it due to the gurgled mess that comes out of most of them while performing LIVE.
That's the result of constant touring. Some nights are better than others and the toll it takes sometimes. Not everyone can perform flawlessly every night, especially lead singers
