Great video! I was glad to hear you talking about the production side and special effects because I've not heard a whole lot about them, and I'm so sad to hear how disappointing it was! When I saw it in London it was the first time I came out a show and was like 'OMG THE SPECIAL EFFECTS WERE SO COOL!!' It's also a shame because I saw the last UK tour of Ghost and it was very similar to the London production - the special effects were still impressive, so it is definitely possible to do it on a touring scale! p.s. I know how you feel with posting a bad review - I avoid talking about shows I dislike as much as possible on my channel but I feel everything you said was necessary and you weren't just being harsh!

Loved this video Sam! Very well put. I'm not sure now if I'll be able to see the show this week but would love to see the u/s! On the flipside I don't want it to ruin the memories I have of the show... Such a dilemma!

I saw the show last night and by all accounts I was lucky the understudy was really good

Oh no, sad to hear this as I booked the tickets to see it with my mum in Bristol next week as she loves Patrick Swayze and his films. We got quite a cheap deal though so least it's good to hear that the supporting cast make up for it, so won't be completely wasted!

Very insightful, loved your thoughts, Sam! I think the main issue here seems to be Bill Kenwright hahaha!

I saw it the Monday after you and I had Sarah's understudy... she seemed rather nervous as it was her first show and still struggled a lot with the singing! her acting was alright though! Oda mae is brilliant and holds the show together or else it would have completely fallen to pieces! I miss all the effects form London though :(

I was considering going to watch Ghost mainly because I liked Girls Aloud although the songs in this musical don't do much for me save 'Here Right Now' which is not bad. Anyway I am going to go along with your judgement and give it a miss.

Thanks for making this, the producers should be ashamed; they are ruining the legacy of a great show

I've just read Sarah has been forced to pull out due to illness now! Also that you were not the only one giving her a poor review.... says a lot really... I personally am alright with stunt casting as long as they are alright for the part 😁

I went last week and can totally agree that Sarah just isn't cut out for this role. Her acting was terrible and her New York accent basically was nonexistent in the second act. I got to see the guy who plays Carl as Sam and he was phenomenal! His voice and acting were great but unfortunately due to a total lack of chemistry most scenes with Sarah were cringeworthy. When he was in scenes with Oda Mae Brown he was bouncing off her and they were fantastic together. Think that he made the whole show better after hearing most reviews so I'm happy that I saw Sam as Sam rather than Andy

i'm tempted to book a ticket in Sunderland to see this train wreck for myself. I saw Caissie Levy and Rebecca Trehearn and I cant imagine anyone besting them in the role of Molly

My thoughts through and through and so well said :-) I think we saw the same performance on the second night and I couldn't have put it any better - like the fact that it really isn't Sarah's fault, Andy Moss's vocals were just AS BAD and we have no idea what the creatives/producers were thinking, I mean THAT'S how you ruin a decent show and if you're the creator why do that UNLESS they thought they would attract more people that way so that even if the casting meant there'd be awful reviews, fans and audiences would still wanna come and see what all the talk was about out of curiosity (mind you if that WAS the case there'd be the opportunity of a pretty decent law suit for Sarah and her partner in crime - sorry, I meant partner on stage;-)))

Sorry pressed the REPLY button before I'd finished - .. I even considered asking my money back and all I can say is: I had an airline pilot land a plane that was already 7+ hrs delayed, in the middle of nowhere, cos (his own words): he was tired and so was the plane (no joke) and I didn't request a refund for that (even though it almost cost me MY job) *nocomment* There were actually moments during the 1st acte in particular where it (the vocals as well as the acting) got so bad between the two (Andy Moss and Sarah Harding) that I had to look away (or turn to look at other (random) people in the audiences (not just the person I was with) to see their faces, their reaction in the sense of "oh my goodness- this isn't some uber-dramatised sham audition at the X-Factor-end-of-season reel, I mean after all they're supposed to be professionals SOMEHOW as I paid quite a lot of money to see this show again this year and it used to be special with every other line-up, WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?!? Now, I've seen dozens of shows over the years, not just in the UK but all over the world, and you're bound to become a bit more demanding/judgemental/sensitive yet THAT... I mean THAT .. was just something else.. :-(
