Great video! Appreciate the effort in this video and the info was very helpful. I didn't care for the scent as the smoke and basil (herb) stuck out to my the most. I liked the old formula and this one skins good too. I'm on the the fence if I like the rebranding or not.
Thanks Chris. I am reluctant to do reviews, for many of the reasons you have talked about. It is all subjective. But, I wanted to try to quantify (as much as possible) product quality. Ruds has established a great foundation with the shave score. I am trying to go a step beyond that.
@@TakeCareMan I particularly like that you didn't apply post products in evaluating the soap post-shave. Most people talk about how great the soap post-shave is but they're using witch hazel, aftershave, and balm. You can't effectively evaluate the post of a shaving soap if you're using post shave products:)
I have used both the original formula and the new silk tallow formula of Ghost Town Barber. In my opinion, it is easier to generate lather with the former. The latter does have better residual slickness and a more potent scent. Thanks for the review.
Great breakdown! One thing I would like to see all artisans do is list the soap base on the label. Granted, this is a new label different than the previous, but why not add that information as well. That could go before the ingredients list for all artisans.
Great review Todd. Lots of very useful information. At this time, I do not have any of the chiseled face soaps, but I do want some, and ghost town barber is definitely at the top of my list. I love barbershop cents which I need to get more of, and ghost town I think would fit very nicely into that category. Have tried the London barbershop from maggards which I fell in love with after using a sample. Have a great day, and stay safe.
