Couldn't agree more with your comment of kind of beating that chorus and fading out with it. The only part of the song that doesn't do it for me. The breakdown that you used in the outro of the video is what gets me coming back to this song time and time again, and truthfully I wish there was more of it in this track, it's just so good. Glad you liked it overall though, definitely a good track- just need to cut it short by about a minute or so!
Thanks again for this one Ryan we’ve really enjoyed diving into this band we always have such a good time with their music. As always thank you so much for the support it truly helps us out! Looking forward to the next one you got 🤘
I think the long fade out goes back to vinyl days, when you'd finish a side with a track that faded out like that. Somehow it suits that format even better.
The long outro is intensional and symbolize mankinds eternal search for a saviour. That the watcher in the sky would come down and make everything right again. But he never does but we keep believing and believe and believe (that's why they keep repeating it). It's an amazing song that i love so so much but even if it seems impossible there is even better ones on Impera. My personal favorite is Respite on the spitalfields. Ghost just released a new single. It's a cover of Genesis old hit Jesus He Knows Me and the music video is absolutely mind-blowing. May 18th they will release a new EP called Phantomime with another four different cover songs. And the tour also starts in may so don't miss out on them if they come near where you live. I promise you that attending a ritual is something special.
Ghost has so many good songs. Rats, Bible, Faith, Square Hammer, Mary On A Cross, Life Eternal, Spillways, From The Pinnacle To The Pit, etc. Such a versatile band. I always love the falsetto harmonies when they do them, like on Rats.
You have to acknowledge how fucking sick that main guitar riff is. It drives me nuts when reactors seem to take no notice of it. The first time I heard it my eyes went wide when it hit, like a portal of badassery just opened up before me... Is it just a thing that only a rock musician can realize or something? It can't just be me...
Nah it’s not just you! when I heard this song for the first time, I had to just sit down and let my jaw drop to the floor because that guitar is just ABSOLUTELY INSANE
Impera won rock album of the year 2022. Hard to imagine an album that deserved it more - all killer, no filler. Impera's songs have formed a large chunk of their setlist and in a very short space of time... it's that good. You have many more listening pleasures ahead of you if you react to them all.
wait till you watch the official video Jesus He Knows Me by Ghost that was released 9 days ago . the guitars are insane. the song is a Genesis cover that got tweaked to another level!
My favourite genres of music have always been heavy metal, progressive rock and eighties pop and Ghost combines all three beautifully. Their progressive side is not very obvious with these kind of songs but the previous album had an instrumental called Helvetesfonster which for me is easily the most beautiful piece of music Ghost has ever produced, especially the outro melody is just magical. The album also had another instrumental called Miasma, which is awesome too with the sax solo and all.
Love the newer super melodic Ghost tunes too. So good! The older songs kind of resonant a bit more for me though. A fave is "Ghuleh/Zombie Queen" from Infestissumam (2013) that I know you'd all appreciate. It has a bit of everything they do with a touch of psychedelica. Enjoying the channel!
They've taken a repetitive chorus and made it addictive and notice the subtle change in key on it towards the end (sublime) Amazing guitar riff and a killer song !
I've watched this video at least a dozen times. You two capture the feelings as well as the band. And you also noticed something I never noticed in my favorite song, that little "short, high pitched wail" towards the end. ❤🎉❤
Good one again, guys 🙂 love your videos.. Ghost have so many earworms (in a good way) The sheer craftmanship of Tobias Forge is so talented! Since you're continuing on the latest album.. You choose where to go.. Do "Kaisarion", the album and concert opener.. Or do "Spillways" (Recorded in the same studio that ABBA used, with an actual ABBA piano), or do "Call Me Little Sunshine", the Grammy nominee.. And I hope you are seriously considering "Twenties" for some astounding reggeaton metal 🤘
Holy crapp! Let’s go it’s upload time haha. Ghost gives me a feeling of nostalgia for some reason. Love it. Hope you can get to these songs vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv Gojira - Mouth of Kala Spiritbox - Eternal Blue Deftones - Gore Animals as Leaders - Physical Education (The music video is such a perfect showcase of how their instruments can tell a story.)
