Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire First Reactions & Review 

Saw it yesterday, loved it! Want to see it again. My problem with so many negative reviews is that they take this world too serious. It's like people forget that the Ghostbusters drove the statue of Liberty with a Nintendo controller or people turned into dogs.

I hope we get a directors cut once it hits on 4K blu ray or streaming services, i really love to see more

It was going along harmlessly...then the chess game started what became the fastest tanking of a franchise I've see since Last Jedi. I'm heartbroken at what they delivered to us fans. All my reasons are spoilers, but they absolutely shit the bed with this one and it should have been a layup. The Firemaster coming down the pole made me want to walk out.

This is the best GB movie yet! Incredible. Where do I even begin?! Can’t wait to see again, 1,000 more times.

saw it, brought my kids, we loved it. and then I saw it again, just for me. It's Ghostbusters - and it delivers. As a fan, that's what I wanted. Another chapter to follow up the amazing Afterlife. There's a lot to enjoy.

You guys have helped keep my GB fandom alive when i had no one else to share it with. Been following you from a couple of years before Afterlife and i love how you have now been rewarded for your hard work and steady support for the community. I hope you get to make even more official content in the future. Unfortunately “Frozen Empire” was not for me but hopefully there will be more movies in the future and loving 3 of 5 movies in a series aint too bad. Thank you all for all of your passion. Just saw it with my family, we loved it!!! ❤❤❤ My wife wants to see it again with her dad. She thought it was one of the best movies she's seen in a while.

I loved the movie. Only thing I would do different is they should've gone in the containment unit like they did in RGB. They seemed to be focusing so much on it. I thought maybe Phoebe and Melody would.

I see a lot of people complaining that the final battle with Garraka went by too quickly. I’m like have you not watched the first 2 movies?! Once the GBs get to Gozer and Vigo those battles are done within minutes. People are just used to over blown hour long end battles pretty much ushered in by the MCU. I’m glad the GBs pretty much get in and get out. Shows that they are competent at their job after a quick assessment of the situation as a team and things get done. I loved Frozen Empire and can’t wait to see it again!

I definitely had fun with this movie so much I saw it 3 times on Thursday and I'm planning on going to see it Friday hopefully 4 more times

So I'm going to put it out there, I love how they continue to add different tech that makes you wonder what kind of adventures the OGs had with that tech in the last 30 years. Afterlife introduced Ecto-1s gunner seat. Frozen Empire did the same with Ray riding out in Ecto-C. Just wow!!!

5/10. I went in with low expectations and was still disappointed unfortunately.

Can anyone tell me if it has the traditional ghostbusters logo opening at the beginning ie 1&2 or is it at the end like Afterlife? Or is it not in it at all?

They should have trimmed it down and left some chatacters out. Garaka didn't even show up until around the 1 hr 45 min mark. It worked for Gozer but not here.

I absolutely loved the movie, and I love seeing and listening to a positive conversation about it!

I again encourage the three of you and the audience to check out "Who ya gonna call?" Documentary about Ray Parker Jr's. Ghostbusters song and life. This guy is Top Tier musician- I had no idea❤

I just came back from seeing it, and tbh is is actually a very good gb movie. A little slow in the beginning, but halfway the movie it kicks in overdrive!! Those who are worried about Kumal and Oswald ruining the movie, those people are wrong!!! Here and there some continuity errors but neglible. There were funny moments, scary moments, and even time to let a tear roll over your cheek. Surprising cameos :) it is a different tone than previous gb movies but a welcome one. Keep on busting I say! A new golden age of ghostbusters is coming!! As a gamer I saw this could get a game rendition 🤞for me a solid 8/10

This has 'The Nerd Crew' vibes. 😆

This, I believe, is how you transition the original OGB to the RGB+. Now that the Ghost Corps has the proper formula, they can continue these amazing films and carry on a proper legacy. I hope that made since😅

Oh and GB2 and the video game are cannon!

I found the movie to be ok. I didn’t love it or hate it. Some good ideas - just could have been executed better. The third act was very fast. It feels like a lot was cut out. I hope it does well, but I’d like to see more quality and more RGB enemies used. We need better scripts or focusing on one plot. I’m just conflicted at the moment.

The next movie should focus more on Phoebe, Lars Pinfield, Podcast & lucky. We can leave Trevor Out lol.

WHEN IS THE NEXT EPISODE!!! I thought the exact same thing as soon as the movie ended

I watched one review last week of a guy who watched it twice yet admitted he didn't realise the main character Phoebe was being shipped with the ghost. I elected not to further participate with that guy's output after that comment.

Let's hope there's something still in our stocking after opening the presents!

I will say one criticism I’ve seen said is that it feels more like big budget pilot for a ghostbuster show more than a movie and I don’t think that’s a bad thing at at all because if you look at it like that then…it’s a pretty good pilot

What do you guys think about all of the bad reviews this movie is getting? I'm super excited to see it, but it worries me a little bit, and don't know if I should lower my expectations.

Uh hum...wait...so didn't ALL the ghosts get released from the Firehouse containment unit? ...and wouldn't that mean that Gozer is free again?? lol ...What else would they have done with ALL of those traps that caught Gozer at the farmhouse? ...Wouldn't they have been emptied into the Firehouse containment unit? ...which just got emptied? lol ...Again? lol 🧐

Does anybody know who voices Garraka? I can't seem to find anything on it, and it wasn't listed in the credits

U all did a really good job at the premiere. Congrats on your success. I'm sorry to hear the movie's a little off the mark (jokes not that gr8? Overstuffed? Kumal and Patton were kinda hammy? Seems to be some of the beefs) but I'm heading out tomorrow to see it and figure all that out for myself. Excited

I saw it last night. It pains me to say this but I have to be honest; Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is a bad movie. The film is a mess. It's boring, slow, confusing, convoluted and overly complicated. Too many characters, many of which have been needlessly shoehorned into the story. Unnecessary dialogue, subplots, characters and scenes which go on far too long. It's not funny either. I didn't laugh once during the movie, and neither did the audience I was watching it with. Neither is it scary. Laughs and scares are the two things you expect from a Ghostbusters film but this film doesn't provide any. Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan may be talented directors, but they're the wrong people to be writing these films. With a heavy heart, I rate this film 3 out of 10. I feel a lot of fans are in denial about just how bad this film is.

Watched the film. Loved it. But I think they let out too many trailers with tag lines, plot twists etc. when I was watching the film, I felt like I was watching half of the trailers I’d seen. Ruined it a little for me I have to say. But I did love seeing more of the originals throughout! But for the next film…,please don’t let out too much in trailers…….just tease us.

This film was terrible. It was so bad. There are so many plot holes and scenes missing. "Things get cut" is not an excuse. Saying its a "fun" movie is another way of saying its not a good film. The Ghostbusters did absolutely zero. Their packs didnt even work. Feels like you guys are holding back because of the treatment you had. Theres no excusing this movie, it was Last Jedi bad. The franchise has been killed. The whole Phoebe suicide angle made zero sense. This was worse than 2016.

Just got back from the premiere in my town and watched your review. All I keep thinking is how I just watched a 2 hour live action RGB cartoon. The pacing, plot lines, characters, and scenes, right down to Slimer living in the firehouse was just like RGB and I loved that. Snobby critics can rate this whatever they want, GB fans will dig this and it should do great with families and kids. I think this has more re-watchability than Afterlife too.

Is it better than GB2?

Just saw Frozen Empire, really enjoyed it. GB was the first film I ever saw in the cinema in 1984 when I was 5, it's my fave film ever. Frozen Empire equals Afterlife for me, I loved them both. I didnt enjoy GB2. I put both of them above that.

Seen it 2 times now.
