How is it a ripoff? AVGN rants for comedy, explaining poorly done things for laughs. Aqualung actually explains the game and does walkthroughs, remarking about the good and bad. There is a big difference between a comedic reviewer and a reviewer.
Aqualung, I love your subdued attitude when you review videogames. It is such a refreshing change of pace from the droves of other RU-vidrs who feel the need to be artificially animated and enthusiastic during their videos. Keep on doing what you do best. I, for one, will be contentedly watching.
Good review. The AVGN came to about the same conclusion as you, but he was really an ass about the game, he didn't even try to understand what all the items do, etc. The C64 version of the game was much better, by the way. I still play it from time to time.
Again, why so defensive? I'm not criticizing AL for it, and I am not trolling. I only asked because he's surely aware that many of his game reviews were also done by AVGN and I wanted to know if he had any more planned in the future. I'd still watch them, of course, and I don't hold it against Aqualung for covering the same games.
In the ghostbusting screen, you can walk the ghostbusters up to the edge of the building line. It makes the beams reach much higher to the top of the screen and therefore, makes the ghosts much easier to catch.
4 lane, one way road in a residential neighborhood with horrible drivers?...someone has obviously never driven in Manhattan..if they just added a ton of traffic it would be almost realistic
This game has some good ideas, like the item/upgraded item system and grinding for money, but the execution of fun wasn't there. The driving isn't fun, the catching ghosts isn't fun, the end building isn't fun... Too bad! GHSSSTBUSTAAAS!
There's no monopoly on game reviewing. Just because AVGN reviewed a game doesn't mean it's off limits to the rest of the entire internet. Anyone can say whatever they want about a game, as long as it's their honest, truthful opinion. Aqualung does just that, and he's entertaining in an entirely different way. The End.
Aqualung, have you ever tried opening the doors in the stair climbing sequence? I noticed you didn't mention it and I think that sometimes what you can find in those doors can affect how many hits you take from the ghosts. Granted, it doesn't help the tapping element, but I remember years ago that I did this with every door and while I got knocked down a lot, it oddly didn't kill me even with the high number. I'm gonna check some other walkthroughs to confirm, but wondered if you'd tried it
I remember wanting this game as a kid. Since I'm such a huge Ghosthead, I'm glad we got ONE good GB game - namely the one from 2009. (I really want to like the Genesis game, but I get my butt kicked at it.)
Ghostbusters actually had a pretty decent concept for a game, where you actually take to Ghostbusting as a business. The problem is just how incredibly poorly it was executed. Great overview, I actually enjoyed playing this game to some extent back in my "emulator days" but I will admit it's a pretty monotonous experience.
You should do a review and walkthrough of the Sega Genesis Ghostbusters next, because that might be the most fun old school Ghostbusters game out there. It's looks way more fun than this game and it might even be therapeutic to play that game after playing this one.
"IT'S SATIRICAL Nobody should care who revies what or when. There's no official signup sheet. If more than one person has seen the same (game), they can each express their own opinions" -AVGN in response to the Nostalgia Crici SOURCE: /watch?v=FHWunsTLYa0
Thank you. I was hoping it was something different. I vaguely remember a game from child where I was knight. It involved jousting and I sucked always killings my enemy's horse instead of killing him. Haha Anyway great vid as always.
