Been reading too many ignorant comments about john dee let me try to set the record semi straight. John dee was elizabeth the first adviser. He studied almost all overlapping occult knowledge including astronomy, math, geometry, alchemy and the hermetic philosophy. He was a very well versed occultist and accumulated one of the largest libraries in england and was a well know court scholar. Like many occultist he believed numbers were the language of the universe. In his latter years he focused on communication with angelic forces to help him scry. The part most edge lords care about, john dee had one of the two copies of the manuscript "the book of soyga" which he tried to translate to some success. Unfortunately, the last 36 pages were impossible for him to decipher (or anyone else to this date). Naturally rumors shortly speculated the book harboring immense curses and spells that were "evil" in nature. Hope this cleared some stuff up!

The "grandma's floor" line is a metaphor of how suicide can not only effect the one committing it (obviously) but also the peaple around them. He means that he wanted to commit suicide but the fact that it would hurt peaple close to him stopped him. It a pretty clever line with a really strong meaning behind it. You shouldn't just look at the "surface" of a song imo.

In addition, the original painting of Baphomet was never meant to represent Satan, but unity, as the entire image is basically Yin and Yang (sun and moon in each corner, having both breasts and a penis, having "as above so below" cut into its arms in latin, etc). Finally, the goat doesn't represent Baphomet, the goat began as a symbol of general, unspecified evil as during the Day of Atonement the ancient Jews would symbolically place their sins upon a goat and drive it into the desert to die (also starting the term "scapegoat"). Don't just assume because you've heard the term "Baphomet" before that you have knowledge on the various Left Hand Path religions.
