Ghosting. It is a term that is often used, but what does it really mean? Why is the term not properly explained and why it should be.

Yes!! It sucks ti wonder but it’s exponentially worse to degrade yourself by catering to the narc’s need for fuel. Then you feel so much worse when they still don’t respond.

Ghosting is his speciality. He wrote the book. He hurt me so very deeply with this ghosting and blocking. It is pure assholery. It is cruel, disrespectful, and leaves the victim in devastated state of abandonment, grief, confusion.

You dont miss him.. you miss how good you used to feel ... with hope narcy-poo will come back and fix it once you made him understand this can be fixed and you can both be good again and your love is real ect. He knows what you're trying to do... he also knows if he does what you want.. he hands you the power and he can't ever do that. Its all a game... you can never win. Unless he is irrelevant and a shit lesson about narcs. This isn't love... if you're not happy... detach from the evil nutcase. Its possible.. I've done it. After your done ... happiness and vitality cone rolling back. Happier days are ahead x focus on you and what makes you feel good. Execute any thought/feeling their way. After all... they are not worth our time.

I was ghosted after a two-year relationship, in which I was completely in love, and he promised a future which was exactly what I longed for - he was perfect for me - in every way - and same interests. He lived in another state - so we had to visit back and forth - I couldn't just drop over, which was handy when he disappeared. He was scheduled to come for Christmas again that year, and never came, never called, I called him numerous times, I called his sister, she called him and told him to call me...Zero. I was devastated, not only because of him, but the future we had created in my mind... It was so painful I was afraid...I knew I had to save myself - I realized the one thing I could grab onto was to go to graduate school - that might sound strange, but being in college while my parents were getting divorced was what saved me, and I always wanted to go to grad school...I knew it would make me happy. And guess what! It did! Now I have a graduate degree, that I wanted for years, and I'm happy! BTW - have not been in a relationship since...I think I'm ready now, but am super cautious.

Ghosting is sadistic and smart. An empath thinks she/he did something wrong and does remain mentally linked to that ghost. As the ghost never broke the non-relationship formally. So then he/she feels perfectly authorized to come back whenever needed. Thank you for this other concentrate of truth, Mr. HG, I am studying all your material and is really impressive and helpful (it’s years I am trying to understand: I hadn’t seen your channel before unfortunately). You are definitely very effective in communication.

So I did what HG Tudor said to do WHEN YOU KNOW, YOU GO. I blocked and locked every way Possible for him to try and contact me. No Social Media, blocked text & calls, he lives in a different state, so this wasn't difficult for me. I'm happy he's out of my life. I'll pray for the lost Narcissist. Thank you HG Tudor.

Probably the best and most important piece of information you’ll find on the topic of narcissism. Many of us have wondered whether we were the narcissist after the relationship and began to reflect on what happened. Do you ghost people who you are close to or somewhat close to? Most of us do not, we always respond in some way or another in a reasonable amount of time. Let’s face it, you are here for a reason, and it’s likely because you’ve learned your ex may have been a narcissist. If you were with a narcissist, you’ve likely been ghosted on a couple or many occasions during your “relationship,” and the probability is high your “relationship” ended with the ghosting technique and without a proper talk. You really now have your answer. You can quit wondering now, you had yourself a narc and it wasn’t you. This particular podcast has all your answers wrapped up in a mere 15 minutes.

So very true. I experienced this while on dating sites 5 years ago. So many games - it was exhausting in addition to the ghosting (and then reappearing lol). I ended a 4 year stint with the last narc in March this year and since then I have been spending time learning about the narcissist dynamic as I was unaware of what had happened to me until I was told. This video made me think back. There are many narcissists who troll for victims on dating sites and social media. Of course at this point I have zero interest in dating as I need time plus with COVID still ongoing trying to date would be rather challenging these days (and ewww). Besides what dating site would even be suitable as there are narcs on every one of them hahaha!

He contacted me soon after and asked for another date. I can’t recall my response but it wouldn’t have been rude. His response was very touchy and mean. Then I never replied. About 1 year later he messaged me saying “do I know you from somewhere?” 😂 his tactic was so obvious!! He was trying to insult me by suggesting that I was forgettable. I wrote back “nope” 😂, and that was that! (Online dating SUCKS)

I KNEW it. I used to totally hate ghosting, would be complaining on and on about "what kind of a normal person just ghosts?" And thought it was the most inconsiderate thing. They are going to make the other person worry "did I do something to make them mad" or "did they die in a horrible accident" and just generally trying to figure out why they ghosted. My friends would be like "you care way too much about this" as I didn't really feel much for most of the ghosters. Now I know they AREN'T normal, and also know why I cared so much.

I honestly don’t know what happened? I am a year removed from dating a malignant narcissist. I “thought” that I was healed & met another person several months ago. We didn’t date long but it seemed like things were going well and we were both on the same page with what we wanted. We had a small argument a little over a month ago . My partner asked for some “time alone with their thoughts” that was last time I heard from them. I woke the next day to realize that I in fact had been blocked from all forms of communication. I am clearly still scarred from the extremely toxic relationship with the malignant narcissist & honestly cannot figure out if I was dating another one? All I do know is that someone who cared wouldn’t have done this . I am extremely hurt by this. Trying to get passed it without closure . I do not trust my judgment on people anymore .

Funny, I've been called a powerful empath, altho I don't wear that label. You keep describing a situation that came my way over the past couple years. I was married to a narc for 10 years, so there's a large portion of me who didn't care, my gut was seeing it. His own words and behaviors confirmed it, but my concern kept going for this other person and I simply did not want to believe someone could be that icky.. I adored this person and my heart aches having to face who they really were. Quite disturbing. I have to thank my empath side for getting me out. Thank you for this information, because I had what I considered a strange interaction the other day with an acquaintance I have known for over 10 years. Late last fall, she didn’t answer my email and then didn’t send me her usual Christmas letter update. I decided I had been ghosted and made no further efforts to contact her. I knew the term “ghosted” only from what I had read online. However, we live in a small town and go to the same grocery store; I wondered what would happen if we should be there at the same time. This happened a few days ago. I did not see her until she started waving at me. We spoke for a few minutes and then went our ways. I thought this very odd, but decided not to follow up on it by trying to contact her again as I saw no point in it. Now I can see what happened - I was “Hoovered”. I also remember, now, that similar things had happened a couple of times in the past without my realizing it. I have always had an odd feeling about her. I could not understand what I considered to be a rather strange expression on her face that I sometimes noticed. I still don’t understand it, but I no longer have to be concerned about it. Whew.

When you're in that emotional confused state after being ghosted, the only way I can explain that confusing, painful bewildering and enormous fear is a feeling is similar to drug detox and you have no medication left. The doctor took you off the prescription out of the Blue, and now you have to go "cold turkey". Ive had that experience w medication, and listening to your video today, I can honestly equate similarities between the two. False love is no different than a drug. A bad drug. Thank goodness for counseling and narcissistic education to assist in the recovery process. HG, sometimes I wonder why you do these videos, even though I know a large part for you is the amazing Legacy you leave here on RU-vid. But does it bother you at all that we empathic humans do eventually heal and recover? Wouldn't that hurt your sense of fuel and control? Or does us healing actually fuel you, as a level of power to maintain the superiority of your brilliant mind, that you were responsible for healing us? I also wanted to know if it fuels you sometimes when you read our sad story (comments) about our endured abuse? I know we might all look like desperate peons though, at the same time. I don't expect you to answer my questions, but I hope you can help illuminate my fascination for understanding your kind. Thank you Sir.

If it's just someone you chatted briefly with online, who is displaying narc tendencies and who after a couple of days want to know "What happened?" I answered that he was showing red flags (He wanted to chat "away" from FB and did not respond to my friend request - suggesting he has a partner or something to hide) and it seemed he wanted to argue about my not continuing the conversation for a couple of days (Does a true friend moan when you haven't messaged them for a couple of days?) when I didn't even know him and had warned him that I don't usually chat with strangers (due to this problem) , or someone you went out with once who is bombarding you with boring texts (what are you doing/what have you done today), and then starts bombarding you with texts of "What did I do" which is exactly the problem, then I think it's good practice to drop them as quickly as possible.

I thought I'd "ghosted" people in a different context, so i guess this doesn't really fit the description. I was not "putting them on a shelf." I had decided that i never wanted to interact with them again, and so was actively avoiding them. I think I have always, at least, told them, "I'm sorry, but this just isn't working for me," before "ghosting," and avoided further explanation. It was usually over alcohol use, or a couple of other issues, and having been involved with alcoholics, etc, I knew that nothing I could say would change their behaviors, and that in some cases, it would lead to endless heated arguments. There are certain arguments that I will no longer engage in. They never go well. In one case, I was threatened and had to call the police.

Mine would text back to back. Or within mins all day for days.. then all of a sudden just stop for hours.. which I understood that we all have other things going on. But it was a pattern. He would text and text, then stop. And when I would text him and ask “why are you ghosting me”, an hr or 2 later I would get, “what are you talking about? I’m not ghosting you. I put my phone down”. Right, mid conversation after texting back to back you all of a sudden put your phone down? Crazy games they play..

Don’t completely agree that ghosting is a strategy specific to narcissism. Asynchronous communication allows people to continue the conversation after you’ve undertaken to disconnect-“got to go” or “in a meeting” or “on travel this week, can’t talk”-and they KEEP TALKING, trying to rope you back in or get the upper hand. If you follow through with the disconnection and uphold your boundaries, then they can portray you as the big meanie who “ghosted” them. If you don’t follow through with the disconnection, then they’ve a method of controlling you passive aggressively. If you state outright “I said I had to go, I’m going, you aren’t listening to me” then you’re the big meanie who shut them down. And, in a way, GOSO and no contact the way they are advocated here are ghosting strategies from the other side of the relationship.

You’re talking about an entirely different relationship dynamic than what the speaker is talking about. Someone claiming that you ghosted them after you told them that you needed to go, giving them a heads up, is not ghosting. A couple of the narcissists in my circle love to ghost me. They don’t give a reason, & don’t give a “heads up”…. It’s a form of punishment & that doesn’t apply to your situation. I was ghosted by a close family member (who LOVES me,) for three years because in an argument I said f*** you. Then I was ghosted by another narcissist, close family member for telling her something about family history she didn’t like.. I guess she wants to control what I can speak about. So she ghosted me for 10 weeks. These connections are ending, which is what we have to do when ppl insist on attacking, love bombing, ignoring & attacking again.

He ghosted me, then I was taken off the shelf. I asked him to stop playing games with me (he denied it), and about why he ghosted me to which he stated that he hates that word and that's not what he did. Inevitably he ghosted me again after a month of connecting and visiting. Ghosting 1.0 did so much damage to me. My first instinct when it first happened was this guy has issues, this isn't normal. Yet, I did place the blame on myself. During the interactions after, the red flags were everywhere. In our last interaction I even stated that once he was back home I know communication will drop from 90 to 0.05, to which he wriggled about uncomfortably and denied it. Sure enough the breadcrumbing fadeout started, I tried to intervene by asking can't we just say goodbye and wish eachother well like normal people ---hence.. Ghosting 2.0

I think its also a pattern of existance, drawing fuel, and interacting they can get away with each time they become intimate. I think they sometimes also dont know any other way than to repeat a pattern of devalue and discard methodology. When u dont get emotionally invested in someone, there is higher chance of not treating them well! Add to that a fear of commitment and predatory tendenties and you have a narc that lures in, uses up, ghosts and discards, as a way of living. Their design and system thinks that is life!!!

I never ghost. I attack viciously, at random intervals, usually in the form of questions that accurately pertain to the situation until they block me. This only works for the ones that read the messages. If they don't, then I message their new friends on their own Facebook timeline so both the narcissist and their new friends get those globe notifications inspiring the new friends to give positive reactions to my posts in which I use cryptic innuendo towards the narcissist in an unemotionally detached way. Then I use another account to give a love reaction to my comment, screenshot, or my RU-vid video link post the next day and alternate back and forth very, very gradually at a slow pace. Ghosting = Punching bag.

Not sure a healthy would actually ghost. A healthy will likely provide some kind of contact to inform of their intentions, to make it “official.” Personally I am just not capable of ghosting, I must say or text something to declare my intentions from this point forward. Something inside me, probably my empathy, governs this action. This stands for an intimate partner or close acquaintance. I suppose I can ghost a stranger or acquaintance I barely know. But an intimate? No way can I just ghost, having empathy prevents that.

My 2 sister , mother , aunt does this. I get Why now. Other family and friends call me to get them to answer they do it to me too, but they answer me more. I tell them imma tell on you. 😎😆🤭They start laughing 💀🍼 or I ask them why? you not talking to ....like yo sister, daughter or Your Mother WE START LAUGHING. So it's like now I'm the one always making excuse for their Jezebel ass ways to ppl. I see why!? I'm the energy. They like when I act like imma the MoMA and im the BBY of the family. My mom wish she said she had me first. I was her worst pregnancy... God is good! My point is. I stop answering my phone all the time so ppl can stop taking me for granted. It's been more then 9 yrs I moved away. I think some like to play phone tagg! It's like you rather lose a person just to play with them. Narcissis are ppl that show their secret by how mean they are. You be surprised. I've seen women growning up have HOME Abortion, do thing infront of me cause I'm quite I have had nightmares of what their secerts are. I been told and wittnes the most darkness secrets. Since 4th grade. I think they taking you for granted and their Playing,b enjoyed feeling loved. Even if he's a pimp ok he will get at you new or old. To me narcissis NEVER LIKE YOU LIKE in the first place. They will not go too long without being sneaky. They love to be sneaky. We are fucking with you# SuperEmpath over here ANYWAY
