As someone that just spend 2 HOURS trying to kill the boss at stage 5 before learning he was immune to the axe - fuck the axe

also rules 2 and 3. came here halfway through AVGN video to see the axe.

After watching that AVGN, I may have to reconsider. The fire might just be a better weapon than the axe.

wow, this game actually looks fun with the Axe

Strong weapon, 2 at a time, goes through enemies... Only downside would be the trajectory, but it's still better than the freaking Torch.

Lance = standard weapon Flame = slow, poor damage Knife = fast and efficient Axe = can hit through enemies Shield = close range weapon that can block projectiles (is also a key item for stage 5)

Axe means shit if you can't get your ass through a level without the timer running out lmao

No. I admit the axe is great against almost every enemy, but notice how the ogres start off at the edge of the screen when you start attacking and they almost reached you when they die? You can not properly stunlock them with the axe, making Level 2, 5 and 6 much harder.

So… get the axe. Get the axe. And get the axe 🪓

Axe is the worst weapon in the game, lmao. There is next to no hit stun on the pig men with it. Only effective 100 miles away where hitstun doesn't matter. Thankfully with literally any other weapon, you don't have to wait until they're at a distance like that

and the shield?

it can hit 2 or more enemies at once

not 1, 3 at the same times !

This doesn't look like the NES version. What version is this?
