Dale, thank you so much for such a thoughtful reply. Really means a lot! So when I do live sets I do 'JD-Xi' versions of my songs like this one. This track in particular I wrote using the JD-Xi and guitar looping set up. Then I recreated or 'dumped' the midi into FL Studio and used sampled drums from the JD Xi and synth plug-ins like 3osx and Dexed that sounds as close as I could get them to the JD-Xi sounds. Guitars were recorded with a plug in called Guitar Rig 5. I sort of just mixed everything by ear and used EZmix plug-in preset called 'Metal Master Bus' on the master channel. The bass is a low sine wave based 808 tone. Additional drum samples like hi hats were used too.

To clarify, when you say you "dump" the midi into FL Studio, are you transferring the midi data of each of the 4 parts in the JD-Xi to four separate midi tracks in FL studio, then assigning software instruments/plug-ins to play the midi parts? I am still new to all this music production stuff. I have been using Logic Pro 10.7, and still have not tried to figure out how to dump the four different MIDI parts of a JD-Xi program into 4 separate midi tracks. I have only recorded the JD-Xi sounds into Logic Pro as an audio file, and that works fine too, but I would love the ability to transfer the MIDI data too and alter the sounds like you are doing. I'm just now learning to play guitar, and want to learn how to produce all of my own music, as well as be able to perform live like you do. That's quite a talent to be able to set up the JD-Xi and do a performance with the guitar live. I think that would be a blast. I need to get better at using the JD-Xi. You are an inspiration!

@@r.dalechristensen572 I set up the JD-Xi as a Midi device in logic, I solo the channel I want to use on the JD-Xi, push record on logic and let it count for 4 beats and press play on the jd-xi. Somehow that captures the midi notes and I can use that Midi on whatever synth plug-in I want. Thats awesome you are feeling the inspiration! Can't wait to hear your music when you release it.
