Been really enjoying breaking away from the 40 card mindset and instead calc for target consistency. Very much pleases the mind worms

I found a french player that uploads locals pretty consistently at a great quality. He plays pure with some variants tho, but you see some Ghoti interaction with other decks which is the important part! www.youtube.com/@TheChaserTCG

I'm not sure about the idea that 2 goods + ice barrier + 1 sunfish is necessarily just better than 3 sunfish. If you open ice barrier and goods, goods no longer functions and is strictly worse than opening 2 sunfish. Counting the 1 sunfish and 1 ice barrier comparatively as 2 bricks vs 3 sunfish isnt necessarily true, because you're now a hard garnet, to one that isnt. So the probability of opening ice barrier is 12.5%, and the probability of opening at least 1 goods in the 4 remaining cards is 19.2%, and ultimately the probability of opening both is 2.4% lowering the overall consistency to ~38% to open the 2 card sunfish sardine combo
@deepseadarew6012
@deepseadarew6012 6 месяцев назад
I forgot to include this, but if you compare bricks, it's 2.4% chance of drawing 1x dead Spell (FBG) vs 14% chance of drawing at least 1x dead Sunfish. 2.4% is negligible. That 14% is very significant. We also have to factor that FBG does more than search Sunfish, it searches Psiics which can search Sardine, Paces, Shif, or it can search Abyss which searches Leaffish or Angler. It can add Snopios to the hand. So there's a lot more flexibility. This is why the total consistency of the deck goes up by 3% with FBG.

@@deepseadarew6012 yes there are merits to having an extra search spell if you do draw the one of card you want to search, as opposed to drawing multiple sunfish, I'm not saying 3 sunfish is better! I'm just clarifying that 3 sunfish is very marginally more consistent to find the 2 card combo
@takaruku8128
@takaruku8128 6 месяцев назад
@@deepseadarew6012 and yes the chance of drawing one dead sunfish is 14%, but as stated above, the chance of opening an ice barrier is 12.5% both of which are a dead card. Additionally if you add the chance of drawing both goods (1.28%) which would also be dead on the first turn. If you compare comparable metrics chance of combo is 40% vs 37.6%, and the chance of drawing a dead card is 14% vs 13.78% (12.5+1.28 - (12.5 * .0128)). Which to be clear the 0.22% difference is very negligible, whilst the 2.4% is comparatively a lot more significant. conclusion: chance of sardine + sunfish combo 3 sunfish - 40% 1 sun 1 ice 2 goods - 37.6% --2.4% difference chance of drawing an extra dead card 3 sun - 14% 1 sun 1 ice 2 goods - 13.78% --0.22% difference final note there is a 2.4% chance of drawing both your sunfish and a goods, minus 2.4% of the 2.4% when you draw the ice and the 1 sunfish and at least 1 goods this nets you the sunfish combo and a search this percentage of the time 2.4 - (2.4*.024) = 2.34% tldr you trade a 2.4% extra combo probability for an extra dead card 0.22% more often and one less search 2.34% of the time but obviously foolish goods is a more versatile card with any hand not just in it's functionality to search the sunfish sardine combo
@deepseadarew6012
@deepseadarew6012 6 месяцев назад
@@takaruku8128 3 Sunfish is not significantly more consistent in doing Sardine/Sunfish, if you factor the probability of doing that combo using FoolishGoods, because as I hinted, Psiics can also search Sardine/Sunfish. Because you can search Psiics with FoolishGoods, there are hands involving FoolishGoods that enable Sardine/Sunfish combo that are 3 card combos, so they are not a large boost to the consistency of doing a Sardine/Sunfish combo but when you add it up, it makes up for the loss in bricking with FBG, and their probabilities become about the same. Hands like: 1) Sunfish + Paces + Psiics (search Sardine), 2) Sunfish + Tuna (search Paces) + Psiics (Search Sardine), 3) Sardine + Paces + Psiics (search Sunfish), 4) Sardine + Tuna (search Paces) + Psiics (Search Sunfish), 5) Abyss (search Sunfish) + Paces + Psiics (search Sardine), 6) Abyss (search Sunfish) + Tuna (search Paces) + Psiics (Search Sardine). I would not call drawing Ice Barrier a dead card going first, because you can set it. It still does something. So from my perspective, going-first you'd still be comparing the 2.4% brick from FBG to the 14% with 3xSunfish. Going-second Ice Barrier is still a brick, but this is also where FBG can become soft copies of Gameciel, and where Sunfish are also still bricks. Some good news: In the future, we're getting an Xyz (Utopia Ray Lancer) that can discard Ice Barrier, though I am unsure if it will be useful in White Aura, it may find a home in Ghoti decks already running Bahamut Shark with Toadally Awesome.

@@takaruku8128 So, I think the consistencies between FBG vs 3xSunfish are pretty much the same, so running 3xSunfish is still a valid way to play. I don't think it's bad. The 3xSunfish is not necessarily as bricky as they appear either, because you can always use them as banish fodder for either Psiics or Snopios. Even if we assume that FBG and 3xSunfish have the same consistency and same brick chance, the added versatility of FBG seems worth it to me. Especially because I play Coelacanth ;)

Overall thoughts on White Aura package over the pure version guys? I really can't tell if it's worth. On digital I was doing well with the pure version, but got demolished on my locals first try (first time playing in a while, lots of HP, etc.), so I was thinking on trying this version out but... It just takes a lot of extra steps to get to almost the same board (with a dragite, maybe bubble reef), but loosing focus on the actual ghoti engine sometimes gets just one of the tuners out... I do think that doing all that almost without your normal can play around nib if the opponent does fire it on the fifth, but at the cost of being much more vulnerable to both nib and droll... Pure just seems more focused... Also the main deck seems much more versatile, although you may get some extra copies of paces and shif, once every ghoti is out you kinda don't care about what you draw/search anymore. So 12 HP plus some utilities fit perfectly.
@deepseadarew6012
@deepseadarew6012 6 месяцев назад
Pure can run Shifter and plays around Nib better, but it dies to Imperm on Arionpos and Ash on Psiics a little easier than White Aura. White Aura has potential because it doesn't use up the Normal Summon, and can do more than just Arionpos pass. We just need more consistent ways to getting the White Aura engine and we'll be good.

Why NOBODY plays White Aura Monocerus? It helps me a lot!
@fabrizioorpianesi6670
@fabrizioorpianesi6670 6 месяцев назад
My guess is because of its level. Being level 7 means realistically speaking the most common way to summon it will be Abyss Shark + tuner, which is a bit unlikely because honestly you’d rather use that shark for link material or Stealth Kragen. It can come up, but I’d rather use it more in builds like Coelacanth turbo, where you can mass summon material for it

Do you have suggestions for what is best to banish off prosperity in different builds? I love the fusion package but I find it personally harder to determine what 6 to let go of when using that versus something like this build where it feels a bit more obvious.
@deepseadarew6012
@deepseadarew6012 6 месяцев назад
Links and Xyzs are usually the least used, unless you draw a specific card to make it useful. We usually have more than 1 Lvl 10 synchro (Baronne, Gymir, Chengying) and 1 Lvl 8 synchro (Askaan, Whale, Dragite), but you most likely don't need more than 1 per game anyway, so you can banish the extra ones you think you wont need that game. It's usually hand dependent when determining which cards are worth banishing. Often your hand is already good, so you may only want to banish 3 Extra-deck cards instead of 6.

is there a logic behind no Ghoti field spell? I actually run 3 + terraforming, such a good card...
@deepseadarew6012
@deepseadarew6012 6 месяцев назад
The Ghoti field spell only gets you to Deep Beyond with 3 card combos. So for a deck that struggles to break 80% consistency, some prefer other cards that do 2 card combos. I still think it's a good card.
@thegreatarcana
@thegreatarcana 6 месяцев назад
The Ghoti field spell doesn't get you engine on its own, you have to already be in combo for it to be useful, and if you're at that point, you may as well use that spot for handtraps or better consistency

I just cannot play the White Aura stuff. Shifter is far too good and helps going 2nd incredibly to a point that it must be ran.
