Thanks so much! I appreciate you taking the time to watch & comment. Please make sure you swing back around and let me know how you get on with them once you've picked them up. I hear they are starting to be seen in Walmarts across the US, if you're from around those parts of course. :)
They put the stretcher feet and sculpted buckles on the wrong side. The stretcher collapses if a figure is placed on it. I they put the feet and buckles on the other side, the stretcher would not bend and the peg would hold a figure on the stretcher.
Hmmm. Now you mention it... I can see that. Honestly though - that's not happened a great deal to me and I've done a few little set ups with 2 figs carrying the stretcher. I just sorta finesse it right. I can only imagine that the intent was to have it used laying flat on the ground maybe?
So yeah broke the ‘code’ and watched this. So excited for Doc. He was an early Action Force figure for me. Agree with you on the load out. It does look quite cumbersome on him. Still can’t wait for him though.
LOL - I'll give you a pass! The 'code' is flexible amongst us ;) I'll keep an eye out for your take on him. I had the Action Force Doc too. The cumbersome vest situation is only minor when looking a the fig as a whole, and asides form the fiddly glasses I've had a great time with him!
Will you be putting out a sergeant slaughter and how about making a G I Joe of R. Lee Ermey and as cobra has the dreadnoughts the Joe's should have a team The A- Team. YO JOE !!!
...back in the early wants, I was so disgruntled thinking that he had been neglected in the line. Them when he was announced, i was highly excited. Now I'm anticipating his delivery. Very thorough review. Much appreciated.
I'm happy for you @MAGEtvPTB - I've got a few early wants yet to come, but those that have arrived made me real happy too. I'm glad you've got this little slice of excitement - that's awesome! :)
I wasn't hugely anticipating Doc, but this figure looks very solid. I like all of the gear on his vest. He's a walking hospital. Classified doesn't sell out very fast on BBTS, so I'm happy to pick him up some time in future, rather than rush to preorder him.
Great review, Chris. You touched on some roleplay/posing questions I've had as well. I'm kind of tempted to pick up two and swap a head in. Do you think the 60th anniversary infantry head would fit comfortably? That would give me 2 medics to carry around the stretcher. I will also be strongly tempted to take off that vest. I did that to one of my Python Patrol TeleVipers, and he looked a lot better imo. Guess we'll see if I can find this guy in stores or have to wait for September when Pulse is scheduled to ship mine.
This figure is definitely greater than the sum of his parts. But the one thing that I find silly/annoying is that the Joe team at Hasbro didn’t bother to change the naval themed belt buckle on the diaper piece. Unless Doc was a member of the Navy, which I don’t think he is. I’m wondering if the other diaper pieces didn’t look right or they just thought the second belt would cover the oversight and said “Nah, it’ll be fine” and called it a day.
Sadly I suspect it was the later. It's fine - the second belt is pretty good and covers it but there have been one or two times when I've taken a picture and realised its floating and the random sailor buckle is on show! All told though he's def a lot of fun. :)
Yep - the positives vastly outweigh the negatives here. The vest and glasses were worth mentioning, but I have had a great time with this figure this week! 😀
Taken as a whole I think Doc turned out great and is a must own. My only issue with the figure is the vest. I think at this scale the addon pouches don't really make sense as they just end up being a bit too bulky and if you don't use them you have these huge peg holes in the vest. I wish the vest was removable or they gave him a vest from another figure that didn't have the removable pouches feature. But with that being said, overall he's still a great figure...can't wait to get mine!
I totally agree. Other than the moan about the vest and the glasses being a bit janky he's overall great and I've loved my man-child playtime with this guy. Thanks @Snowmation 🤘
You're on a mission to civilise my friend... I used to love Asterix & Obelix as a kid incidentally. Maybe that's where the moment I misspoke came from...
@@MoDXtraGC It's very common. Far more people know the character Asterix than know the names of all those little symbols. I'm just pedantic and can't let it slide. 😅
@@flaffel57flaffel57my guy mine did as well on Amazon they were already sold out on in demand toys and cmd sooooooo on to robot kingdom for the win lol lol
@@MoDXtraGCDon’t sweat it! We usually get things before you on this side of the pond! Great review! Roll up a tiny strip of toilet paper or paper towel to look a roll of gauze for him to carry! 🤷🏼♂️
I'm really looking forward to Doc. He holds a special place in GI Joe to me because the original was the very first GI Joe I ever got as a kid. I like that he's a modern take on the classic design and I will have to play about with the pouches to get a configuration that I like.
Seems Doc has quite the fan club! Lots of folks like yourself Jake seem to have fond memories of owning Doc when they were younger according to the comments. I'm glad you'll finally be able to own a modern version of your very first Joe 😀
