There've been a few interviews where I've noticed this guy intentionally doesn't turn off his phone. He's even got it out in front of his microphone, almost to _make sure_ we hear how important he is.

Competitive gaming happened in The 70s, before Twin Galaxies ever opened. Atari, Midway, Williams and Silco-West vending company were doing massive competitive events BEFORE Twin Galaxies even got their feet on the ground. The great and controversial Foosball competitive event promoter, Lee Peppard, worked with Atari on one in 1981. Sega-Gremlin was doing national tours with competitors in 1977, for god's sake! Angel Munez, Cyberathlete Professional League (CPL), is the closest thing to an eSport progenitor since he launched the very first professional league in 1997. Before that the term "electronic athlete" was incorporated in 1982 by Wisconsin competitive gaming promoter, Dennis DeNure, who held that incorporation until 1999. Even so, classic arcade games are coin op single player games that can't support integrated combative team game play in real-time. Your "man" can't alter or influence the playing environment at all. Mitchell and Day seem confused about what eSport really is since they seem to think "That's Incredible!" TV show is eSports. Being televised isn't the only criteria. If that were so, then The 70s syndicated video game TV show "TV POWW!" which used the Fairchild Channel F System as a platform, would be considered the progenitor of eSports since it first aired in 1978, a full three years before Twin Galaxies even had a scoreboard. Either way Mitchell's and Day's belief that they began eSports, or even competitive gaming for that matter, is cringe-worthy. They either have no clue on real gaming history or they're completely trying to fool people. Honestly, I think these two are "The Fathers of MeSport". Two guys who think if they keep pumping out vanity films, posters, fake awards and monuments to themselves and their pals, and spewing as many self-serving falsehoods as they can, that people will start believing their hype. I wish they could hear themselves the way the rest of world does. People are laughing.

Props to Ben for keeping the ball rollin, Billy doesn't seem like the greatest person for an interview like this.

gives this whole explanation how speed runners aren't impressive then says he has never seen agdq and has no idea what hes even talking about lmao what a joke speed running is amazing and I give 100% respect to those that achieve WR just because you wherent there to do it first which a lot of time has to do with age ( a lot of runners are young so they wherent around when these games launched) this doesn't mean that you are just copying someone it means you are interested in the same thing and believe you can do it better.

Billy is in character . People in the comments dont know that. But Billy loves to play the villain. The arrogant hotshot. And people always fall for the act and say " what a cocky piece of shit Billy is" lol. Billy absolutely loves video games and the gaming community. He is actually a very nice and can be very humble , believe it or not.

man Walter looks tired, Its a real shame that most people say such horrible things about Billy, hes really a nice guy, Ive known him for years, I just hung out with him a few months ago for about 8 hours in one day! he showed up to my comic con in Brandon as a guest and drove over 3 hours for free by the way, he hung out the whole time. he plays a character guys, yes he does have a certain attitude and for good reason.. Ive seen him play, hes amazing. remember its a character! Walter is beyond a great guy. Brain is cool too, Ive only met him once though.
