You sold me on this knife when I watched your review a few days ago , & my GI tanto arrived in the post yesterday, thanks for an outstanding review, it's the best on RU-vid.
I don't know how I'm just now stumbling across your channel, but ultimate respect brother. You beat the crud out of this knife! Excellent testing and video!
Really great review by the way. The first I've seen explaining things very clearly in two languages. You really gave potential users a taste of what this knife is really capable of. This thing cuts through concrete blocks - proof is on video!
Most reviews do this blade no justice, but yours....you did this blade justice! I figured these knives were junk but now I will buy one! Good review and I believe if any knife will be used as your primary knife or as a survival knife in which it could affect your well being, needs to be thoroughly tested.
Great review, I was looking for an affordable tough knife and have ordered the Tanto GI after seeing the punishment you put it through. Thanks very much for posting.
Love your review man. been having 2nd thoughts on the blade and this is the most honest review i've seen so far. very objective an non-subjective. no flair at all. Salamat and Kudos from the Philippines...
I will add, please do not file off the black. This knife is both tough and hard, but it lacks resistance to corrosion, the black bake prevents staining of the blade. If you file off the black you will expose this knife to its only vulnerability, rust and tarnishing.
Grade bestellt. Was für ein krankes Teil. Ich mag den Style, in dem du es bearbeitet hast. Wenn man ein Messer zum misshandeln will, ist man damit am Start.
Wonderful testing, thank you for this. I really had not considered the GI Tanto for myself, but now I can see that it is more than a good deal, especially since they can be had for about $30 US here. Great video, thank you!
This knife was designed for piercing. It's a tactical fighting knife it is not a survival or bush knife. One can actually carry three knives one for fighting another for survival and another for bush craft. I have the cold steel SRK knife which is a good survival knife and is less menacing looking. A Bug out all around knife is the K bar BK2 or the SRK. " Survival Rescue Knife" Good test on the GI Tanto glad it was your knife and not mine. Thanks.
I was hooked after seeing this knife cut through 1/8 inch thick mild steel persuaded by a 3 pound steel mallet on its spine. It did not break. If you can only carry one knife - and it MUST NOT BREAK on you......look no further. NB - a highly customizable blade too. Comes with vg sheath. I have the older sheath but I converted it to a survival knife with a hard pouch attached by 3 ranger bands. One of the coolest blades on the planet!
If I come across a knife that I am interested in buying, I never buy until I see a blackforestghost1 review. BUYING IT NOW!!! You are the master guru, Ghost.
Bomb proof blade. Best $20.00 blade on the market bar none!!! Mine and my brothers have endured everything. I have beat mine with rocks and the back of a hatchet. Scarred but trucking still. Nice demos!!! :)
You make a very good job in showing the whole world what great knife this is. This knife is one of the greatest value in the knife world. I remember the Destruction Test that noss4 made with this knife. That was amazing as your test. Sadly noss4 closed his channel.
This is a bomb proof knife. It is exactly what a soldier needs! Whittling, batoning, feather sticks etc, not a soldiers main concern,, leave that to ray meat
wegen dir hab ich gesündigt u die mir geholt...hatte das modell vor zehn jahren mal aus edelstahl von haller...nach deinen videos musste ich mir die cold steel holen...ich MUSSTE.
I bought 5 of these to put in each car as an emergency do everything knife. It's $20 at Knife Center right now. For everything you put that knife through, $20 is a super bargain. I might have to buy some more as back ups.
Yes, In America we do call it Walnut wood. Here on my families homestead we have dozens of Black Walnut trees. So to answer your question sir, you are indeed right. It is called Walnut wood. :)
Add oil to the blade like any knife collector would. Mineral oil, coconut oil, cooking oil. Anything to keep oxidation from the blade. And to keep humidity out.
The only thing i didn't like about this knife. was the handles, After some light use the handles broke off. but i put some grip tape, And it is now good to go.
Cooles Video 👍 Danke für die Info 👍 Ehrlich....da bestell ich gleich 2 für den niedrigen Preis und der tollen Qualität...Cold Steel 👍 Lass gleich mal ein Abo da...
