The idea is usually trade him away to the other Conference so you don’t have to see him very often. Trading him away to the Bulls is like an hour and a half drive.
He won’t be able to keep him if you don’t have enough of a supporting cast. The last thing you want is a superstar to walk away for nothing after one season.
