GIANT $1700 PREDATOR STATUE: Prime 1 Studio Jungle Hunter Review from Dark Horse Comics 

Hey Mr X. The alternate mask was originally the mask that was going to be used in the movie but they changed it last minute. They decided the mask should be featureless so when the mask comes off the face underneath was surprising to the audience.

The look on your face as the head fell priceless hahaha

I absolutely love this predator. I like him more than the standing up version we are getting in 1:3 scale. It’s a bit more dynamic as a hunter like predator should be

The alternate mask you like is called the Gort mask , it was the original bio/mask intended to be used for the original film.

First of all Mr X when you was doing the assembly and I saw the head come off and fall. My heart heart dropped. I hope there wasn't any breakage. Man oh man this is one fantastic piece. They thought almost everything about the Predator that they could and just went with it all. Love the pose. It looks like it was chilling after a fresh kill and it heard something in the distance. Making him to grab his spear and crouch into the ready position. I can only imagine how difficult it was to the the painting on him but just imagine how much more difficult it was, to get the Predator to stand still in that pose while they sculpted him. He must have been pissed. The base is incredible. You definitely can see that it is a jungle out there. This is one really well done sculpt and with all those options makes this one killer Predator. Definitely is an attention grabber and a 5/5 with a positive xtreme factor. Congrats on the purchase, it was worth getting it.

Good review man! 👍 I got the DX also and the heads aren't actually loose. You have to move a dreadlock out of the way by the plasma cannon and it will fit properly. Fix those necklaces lol.

Biggest pet peeve in statues is when something is over or under scaled... especially since my whole collection is supposed to be 1/4 next to one another it makes no sense when one is strangely gigantic.

This thing is so awesome. Never understood the bad reception for it.

The armor overall needs a black oil wash that is padded off 20-30mins later before it starts to really set. Then it will look amazing.

The Gort mask! Jungle hunter 1/3 should be coming with that option as well, it was the planned original mask for ‘87 but they felt it gave too much away before the predator face reveal. It shows up in a blink and you’ll miss it scene at the end of predator 2 as the “guardian” predator as well. This is my first prime 1 preorder, the spear was a nice bonus on top of the multiple swap out bonuses.

Holy shit that portrait drop would of been more catastrophic if the dreads weren't flexible, which if I am right, this is their first predator statue to make the switch from sculpted to flexible dreads. Thank goodness for that!

Love the review (keep up the awesome work)!!! I finally received the hunter’s victim tree to go along with this insane piece! I elevated the tree by 2-3” to position hopper closer to the predator plus adding a little more scale to the tree. The combination of the two creates one magical scene🤩🤩. I also sent off one of the head sculpts to be repainted movie accurate as well as having the link on the dog tag fixed so It can dangle around Hopper’s neck as he hangs from the tree😆😆😆😆

They did a great job on this statue. Really like all the switch outs also. Great variety of display options.

Your Prime 1 Predator reviews are the best and super helpful to me (a newbie to these statues). Been on the fence about the AHAB from Prime 1 for a few months now but I finally pulled the trigger and placed my pre-order for the EX. Ahab is my favorite Predator across all media (movies, comics, games, etc.). He is the ultimate summation of what the Predator lore is to me. A season veteran hunter/fighter with the scars and weapons to prove it. So excited for it and your review!

I shrieked when I saw what happened during assembly. He's a great piece. Better than I would have thought. And definitely a distinctive difference in size of the piece. Great statue for the collection!

This is an awesome piece! Predator is one of my favorite sci-fi characters ever. I still haven’t picked up a Predator statue only because I have very limited space available and most are huge even at 1/4 scale like this one. Looking forward to seeing you review the 1/3 version!!

Great statue, prime 1 has been killing it on the predator line. Also completely agree with you, people can be really negative initially on statues just based off of pictures.

Great review as always. This is an awesome statue. If it wasnt for me owning Predator grails (SWS Maquette and the Cinemaquette) AND having the 1/3 Movie version coming I wouldnt have cancelled. Also Im almost out of room so I need to pick and choose haha. Might pick one up down the road if a good price presents itself and I've got the room.

Great review! You covered everything! Exactly my thoughts! Paint is not perfect,but as you said..... None of them are,since all these pieces mass produced. A master painter could cure this issue,but this piece would cost a fortune,so not worthy for a repaint! Overall it's a great statue! Can't wait to see more of these to get reviewed........

That's the best I've seen in a while and it's massive for a statue of its scale, to be honest I think it's worth it on price.

Hell Yeah😀😁 he is freaking impressive! I love the pose and weapons' plus the plants on the base look lush and make me think of the movie, which makes it even better. It would be hard to not switch out the combistick and the spine trophy🤘 It was really cool that u showed a comparison of the movie predator (which is also freaking awesome) and this dark horse edition. The detail is crazy and Prime 1 just keeps getting better😎 a total win for collectors👊

Since he is basically 1/3 scale I'm thinking of putting him together with XM Predator on throne. I'm hesitating to get the Sengoku Predator and Fugitive Predator due to financial constraints. I have this already and it really catches your attention with the colors on him and the sheer size of it. It basically screams Jungle Hunter from the Predator 1987 but I'm just gonna take it as the Big Game cover art just that they decided to throw in some extra goodies for us. The paint on his skin could use some wetness but overall. It's a killer piece.

For 1/4 scale it looks a lot bigger I think they make the best predators if the trees and moss would light up would be bad ass
