You can mod the rear end by superglueing the carrier gears to make a rear locker. Works awesome

You should revisit this truck! I put a 12T 390 motor in mine and a 1/8th scale New Bright Raptor hard body on it to better suit the chassis. Just need to add silicone ear plugs to the diff and sort out the suspension. Even got the stock steering servo working with a 5 wire WLtoys 12428 esc/receiver combo and the potentiometer from their servo. It even has a hookup for lights!

🎄Merry Christmas! you should make something so the front wheels have a raised ring around them looking like a pizza cutter so you have like rudders on the front wheels so you can steer it in the water.

I know it's too late now, but if you ever do something similar again, you can usually take the circuit board from an old broke/dead hobby servo you will see it has 5 wires attached, the motor + and - and the 3 pot wires. If you remove those wires, you can solder on the 5 wires from the toy grade rig onto the respective places and then you can plug the servo plug in and it should behave like a regular hobby servo. I've done it plenty of times before with Nikko, Radio Shack, WLToys etc so it should work on this too. As long as it's proportional, toy servos should essentially work the same as hobby ones, it's just they outsource the thinking to the main circuit bored rather than have a dedicated board of their own. All you have to do is give them a brain of their own.

motor on axle 4wd? but a flip down rudder in the back or rib rubber on the wheels might work too

I'm a newbie to RC mods and am about to pull the trigger on one of these but am already thinking of ways to increase power/speed. Could you explain a little bit what the 1080 ESC from hobbywing would do for the car and how easy it is to install/setup?

Not gonna lie, now I wanna get one and do this. One of the first projects on our channel I took one of the sams club savage 2 crawlers and hobby graded it. It likes to break front diff gears with the stock motors. I’ve bought 2 sets of axles and a complete parts car from ebay

Would this be easy for some with no experience at modding rc cars? I have this RC Monster Truck but want to get a new battery in it since it doesn't work.

Quick question, so my mega grave digger rc recently stopped charging, i realized the little red box cable was disconnected and the box broke so i have to glue it with something, does that cable have something to do with why it isn’t charging? Was yours connected when you got it ?

How do I add even more power? I want this thing to really haul..

Maybe if you could find some paddle tires or somehow modify the ones on it without taking on water, and a bigger motor for a little more speed on the water. I definitely wouldn't throw any real money into it. Just enough to squeeze out a giggle or two. Merry Christmas to you and yours, from me and mine.

That’s cool and now my 3 year old got his this morning and I was excited to this video so when he gets used to it I can get him more power. And I wonder if u grove the back tires a little more if it would hook up better n the water. I told him I’d he broke it I was gonna put the tires on my notorious lol he said oh no daddy u not taking my grave digger tires! Alright. We have the megalodon on clearance at our local Walmart for $40. Wish it was digger but I’m sold. I’m going to pick one up.

What about a rudder straight down off the servo. Wouldn't really be great for land though haha, think it would have to hang too low. Oh wait, rear steer possible..?

A few rubber bands around the rear wheels should act as paddles

For the front end you could have wired the motor and potentiometer to a control board out of a standard servo.

Should have done the Megladon one. I bet with some paddles added to the back tires and rudder fins on the bottom of the front tires, it'd tear it up paddle boat style.

Have you upgraded the read axel? I’ve gone thru 2 of these already. Rear axels snap off just by bumping into objects.

Try those tires and wheels on a more powerful rc. Then put it in the water.

Do you have a parts list of what all you did to this? Like the battery and remote controller too. My son has had his for a year now and the batteries don't hold much of a charge anymore. I want to make it faster and more powerful. Do you think you'd be able to mount a better motor in it?

The manufacturer won’t sell parts so customer support is nonexistent. I also notice that it’s extremely hard to find videos on these trucks that comments aren’t turned off. So evidently they’re not very confident about customer reviews on this product. The steering on my controller quit working. I can drive it just fine with my son’s remote but the manufacturer won’t sell me a replacement controller so I’m not happy with the product and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone because they’re very cheaply made.
