Antonov AN-225 Mriya arriving at São Paulo Guarulhos International. The massive Ukrainian plane was chartered to transport a heavy electrical generator from São Paulo, Brazil to Santiago, Chile. Antonov should have built more of these 225s. They are very impressive.

Financial difficulties accounted for why more of it could not be built.

@@sundayaito4366 nope. There's no demand for one more such a specific "bird". Even the single 225th hasn't enough booking for huge mono-cargo (turbines etc.)

@@sundayaito4366 even if Ukraine accepted money from Russia to build others, it would be a waste of money, this plane is only used when no other plane can do the "service", 1 is enough

Another one was being built and is very much completed. When the USSR collapsed, work on it stopped. Photos of it are on the internet.

I was the 2nd one to disembark from the airplane on this video .. it was a short flight from Viracopos to Guarulhos and then 4 hrs from GRU to SCL ... nice experience ¡¡¡¡

Really? And what happened to other "things like this"? :D This one was rebuilt almost from scratch by ukrainian Antonov company. After USSR collapsed due to poorness, this one existed only as partial dummy (only some body parts with no internals).
