This is the most ambitious stunt fishing mission Matt has ever taken on. Catching a giant blue fin tuna is tough even on the very best big game fishing tackle, but on a hand line it is not only tough, but dangerous.

I live in Senegal, West Africa and catching big Tuna, Albacore, Marlin are all done by handline trolling from wooden Pirogue’s, using 200kg mono... just pulled in to the boat and dropped on the floor around the feet... risky and rewarding... I have two little fishing shops here and see many of the fish that are pulled in.... excellent and takes a lot of strength and courage to fish for the really big ones... not all the traditional fisherman want to do it because people sometimes do get tangled in the line and dragged to their death..

you should have put a small 10 inch kill buoy on the rope about 150 feet from the hook, and a large buoy on the end of the rope. Then you can let all the rope go overboard ,then gaff the buoy and continue fighting.

The first part of their line is an ''invisible wire" where the hook is atached...we allways use this "invisible wire" on the end of our fishing lines,becouse is reinforced and the big fishes cant break it with their sharp teeth,neither sharks can cutt it with the teeth...and its working for us.
