Pete, when you do ice cream or anything thing cold like this, Have a cup of really warm water on standby. As soon as the warm water hits the upper back part of your throat and mouth the brain freeze sensation will instantly go away. Brain freeze is the dramatic and sudden increase in blood flow through the brain's anterior cerebral artery. As soon and the roof of your mouth feels something warm the artery constricts and the brain-freeze pain sensation goes away almost instantly.
i've never had brainfreeze and i never understood what people are talking about when they speak of brainfreeze. i mean i get a painful snesation when there's too much of a cold thing in my mouth and it feels like what people describe as brainfreeze but i feel it in my teeth, not the head. am i the only person who can't get brainfreeze?
That's called having sensitive teeth.People do overestimate brain freezes , they only happen when you eat too much at once not if you have a lot in your mouth.
its the same to me when i eat ice cream. i never get the brain freeze but i think you should try drink a glass of slushy in one shot. then you will finally get the brain freeze. it hurts so bad trust me

you get brain freeze when the roof of your mouth gets incredibly cold, your brain thinks it's freezing so blood begins flowing rapidly and cells tighten up to keep heat, that causes the pain. It's best to try on a hot day with a super cold drink, drink continuously and make sure the root of your mouth is in constant contact with the cold coming in, if you do it right, you will stop on your own less you have a thing for massive headaches.
