Giant Cave Spider - Meta menardi 

I found many of these in a Cave in Belgium a few month ago. Juveniles where right at the entrance to a few meters in the cave, big adults 10-15 meters in but not beyond. I was very impressed by the size of these beautiful spiders.

In Norway you usually find these inside manhole covers, drains, sewers and the like.

I found, some years ago, im schwäbischem Raum germany, in a cave a spider looks like a black wido, very big. Never found out what kind of it was.

Seems a patient type, content to run for the shadows.

That is giant for sure!

Weird to see a Tetragnathid without the elongated chelicerae. Here in the US they're quite odd looking haha

Would you guys come and collect a load of very large tube web & mouse spiders from my house please? They are terrifying fascinating but I'd really like to get rid of them so I can do some work on my house without killing them.

those cave spiders are small in the caves where i am in dorset i have come face to face with some the size od a brussel sprout. and they do bit if provocted and take it from some one that has been bite several times it is like a big bee sting the worst was like a hornet sting it worf of after time i had a red patch around the bite but not poisonus to bigger mamals but still cn be nasty

I tried to recently debate some people from the south on a male noble false blackwidow spider vs a male manogea porracea spider who wins. No one could answer
