Also excited to see the gardening. My concept would be planting as much lamb's quarter as possible in addition to the chickens for food production.

NW Florida here. Great video ! We built something similar just from a picture. Having the coop raised is so helpful. The chickens always have shade during the day & a dry place to hang out in rainy weather. Having a raised floor makes it easier to clean.... our coop is 4x8, so I can reach the back wall from the doors.

very cool. Yes, raising it off the ground helps tremendously. I think I could have added an extra 6 to 12 inches to my coop's height though, but it's still close enough I think.

very nice bro! those are gonna be some happy chickens! i wonder if you'd benefit from a gutter system to automatically drain into a rain barrel that overfills into a water dish for them?

Wow, that’s Beautiful! Is it possible to adjust the plans? This is basically what I’m going, never built before (and I’m 58) my daughter will help me, but mine is 12x8 with 4-5’ being a shed type for storage. I’m just trying to figure out how to do it properly. I’m planning on putting gutters on to collect rain. The only other thing is I think I’m going to use hurricane tires instead of birdseye? Just because I’m not sure I can do it😊

Great question. I really want to add a second floor, with deck etc. I'm excited to start it, though I still need to save up more capital before starting. Maybe 2025?

The 4x4 90° corners? Those are some sort of Simpson product. I'd start by searching "Simpson Ridged Tie Corner". See if you can find them.
